What protects the sides of a Brain Cell?

I assume there's some foam on the sides (maybe the inner foam pouch is actually closed on the sides?), but the cross-section picture on the site makes the sides look exposed. That, plus the fact that the site says the Brain cell offers little protection when used vertically, makes me curious about side protection.

Is there foam but just no plastic? Or is it really just the nylon fabric?

Oh--by "sides" I mean the skinny 2"-wide sides.

      Shmackey,

The sides of the Brain Cell are protected by Cross-linked polyethylene, in a 4 lb density. It is a closed-cell foam.

      Hope this helps!
Have a question? @Darcy (to make sure I see it)

Current carry: testing new potential materials in the form of Original Large Shop Bags.
