That would be a good thing. Any suggestions? I've been looking at this one but I don't know if it's completely spill-proof.
Have a question? @Darcy (to make sure I see it)

    Darcy:

Cool Tools (disclaimer: I have contributed a few bits there) recommends this one:

Personally, I dislike and distrust mugs with fancy moving-parts tops -- it's getting hard nowadays to find good steel-walled (double walled, with steel on the inside, too, that is) mugs that *don't* have such monkeywork. But if you like them, this one looks pretty good.

I use a guyotdesigns.com 38oz wide mouth stainless steel bottle with their Gription top. It IS single walled and gets too cold and hot to touch so I use a neoprene bottle cover. But it keeps hot coffee warm all day long (6+hours). If I'm trying to show it off to friends of how it is spill proof, Murphy's law somehow sneaks in and a few drops find their way into view. The Gription top can be used on normal Nalgene wide mouth bottles too. They have different sizes of stainless steel single walled bottles.

        Contigo Travel Mug

Contigo Autoseal Travel Mugs are my answer to the perfect coffee mug. I found out about them here on the Tom Bihn Forums last fall. I carry two filled with coffee every day, one in each of the water bottle pockets on either my Super Ego, or Ego, depending on what I need to carry for the day. They absolutely do not spill, and hold a generous 16 ozs. http://www.gocontigo.com/

Is the inside of the mug stainless steel? Thanks!

After looking at the cantigo link a number of times, NOW I remember that is the one I kept picking up at the few stores I saw it in when I was looking for a mug. I believe I saw the stainless version, could have been one of the two to the right of it though (it's been a while). Nice little cup! But in this Texas heat, ice water doesn't last long in 16oz. But if I was going for a smaller cup, that would be the one I would get.

                    Contigo

Yes, the inside of the mug is stainless steel, and vacuum insulated. If I remember correctly from someone's forum post, you can only get the vacuum insulated version directly from the Contigo site. The models you see in stores are only the foam-insulated ones. Mine keeps coffee hot for about 3 hours, and ice-water will sometimes stay cold overnight if I forget to empty it.

I carry two because I drink lots of coffee, & just zap it in the mircowave (in a cup) when it needs reheating. I wish they would make one with larger capacity, like their water bottles.

When I bought my first mug from them, they asked me to fill out a survey, and sent me a free mug of my choice! I now have 2 Autoseal mugs, 1 24oz. water bottle, and 1 Extreme Mug.

FWIW, I picked up the vacuum insulated version from Target last weekend.

Yes. It's double walled stainless and it feels cool to the touch regardless of whether the contents are cold or hot.

I bought a pair at Costco last year and love it. I haven't thought of it as a "mug" because it has no handle or anyway to hook it to my backpack.

                            Contigo Travel Mug

More than a few customers posted about the Contigo travel mug in the Synapse thread and we've moved those posts here so that the discussion can continue in its own thread. I've purchased one and am waiting for it to arrive.

That one looks like a contender. I also don't really like the fancy moving-parts tops (I was most recently using a small mason jar with a plastic lid) but am going to give them a try.
