Free t-mobile hotspot account for new Vista users...

    MS just announced this deal:

Where you can get a tmobile hotspot account free for 3-months if you use Vista OS. Kind of a sweet deal if you byte the bullet and switch to Vista and like to work out of the office now and then. Or even for a student trying to save some money...

if you do go for it remember to select the "hourly" account type when asked for what sort of subscription you would like. That way when the free period expires you will not get billed or be tied into an account. You can always change that later or setup a new account if you keep the service.

I already use the tmobile hotspots and have am really happy with the service as it meets my needs quite well.

Just thought I would pass it along as I am not a real "baggie" but am a decent techy sort and can help with that now and then...hope it helps spread the word...

      PM:

how do you like the Sprint service? I am sort of locked into using the "fattest pipe" I can find because some days I need to xfer some pretty large files...more then once in case I fixed something "too good"...

I was reading today that one of the 3G services is already upgrading the system to significantly increase the up stream speeds to around 400K which would be a nice jump from the 50-70K they are at right now. I am pretty sure it was Sprint.

I am still looking to try out our muni-wifi this month and we'll see how that goes. I just really need to move around a lot during the day and love the new freedom all of these services are collectively offering. I LOVE sitting under a tree on a nice spring or summer day and still getting work done.

hehehehe...I laughed when I found out that pretty much all McDonalds are now offering wifi via either Boingo or Wayport. Some charge and some don't.

        Sprint Air Card

I purchased the Sprint air card and service last September 2006 and I have
been very happy with this service. The Sprint air card is vastly superior
to the Edge by Cingular, Tmobile (about the same speed as dialup), and
Verizon. I stopped in Deming, NM a couple of months ago and to my
surprise got a very strong signal on my air card thru a Toshiba laptop.

The downside is that these services are very expensive, $59 per month.
Still for me, I use this Sprint air card as a business tool, so it is a write
        off.
