I love this! I wouldn't want to live here myself, but I love alternative homes, tiny homes, boxcar homes, alternative building, and this guy who turned a Boeing 727 into his house seems to be having a pretty good time. Clearly what he needs is an Aeronaut.

My husband and I are actually in the process of building a tiny house right now--so his plane looks absolutely HUGE to me! The footprint of our house is about 112 square feet

Thanks Gee! We actually are moving down south for a few years (we are in academia), so the weather is going to be quite a bit warmer than we are used to (we are moving from New England). Ideally, we would like to end up in the Pacific Northwest--so we plan on adding a small wood burning stove, the kinds that are made for boats fit quite nicely in tiny houses.

Thanks for posting this, so cool! I will be following intently! I have also forwarded this to my brother who has a growing family, a small house and a big backyard!

I really like the idea of a tiny house on a trailer, being able to move your entire home with a 2" ball hitch sounds pretty cool! Ohh the possibilities! It's such a blank canvas! You will be getting to the exciting part soon, outfitting the interior. A while back I helped a friend re-do an RV interior and you can find some really cool stuff for good deals when you are dealing with such a small scale, did you always want granite counters? We went to an installer and they had one with under mount sink hole that was just a bit long but had chipped an edge when they were trying to install it that they gave him for the price of cutting and polishing the offending edge and making it the proper size (around $50)

For the last few years I have been looking at the feasibility of making a cabin using a combination of repurposed shipping containers outfitted offsite and Pre-fabbed structural insulated panels, a "pre-fabin" if you will... but so far have just been bumping my head against the wall every step of the way, unorthodox is unorthodox for a reason I guess.

Best of luck with the project, take your time, measure twice and cut once and if you ever get discouraged just remember when you are finished you will have a place to call home that can roll anywhere!

P.S. If you ever want a raised porch/patio that folds flat for transport hit me up I have some cool plans!
