"Under the seat" size?

The next time you fly, please measure the space under the seat and post your findings here along with airline and type of aircraft.

You also need to consider what seat you have. On a three across configuration, the middle seat has the widest underseat space, then the window seat, and least of all the aisle seat. On long haul flights with AVOD, some of the seats have large control boxes under them that prevent larger items from fitting under the seat. (For example, on Asiana flights from Seattle to Seoul, the A and K seats definitely have this problem.)

I haven't looked at it much -- I usually remember just *after* a flight that it exists, as with so many other things. So do as I say, not as I do.

For each seat (shown in a diagram) on a particular plane type, there are icons showing whether there are drawbacks or advantages to it (such as being in an emergency row); so far, "underseat video box" is not specifically called out, but perhaps it will be later.

I usually use it when picking out my seat. It's been helpful, because it shows which seats in economy have power ports and which don't. IIRC, it also shows which seats have those media boxes as well.

I found this somewhere online and noted it, but I honestly can't remember where. Thanks to the person that did take the time to post it.

"In case anyone is still interested, here are the SWA under the seat measurements:

window seat: width 18", height 9 1/2", depth 18"

center seat: width 18 1/2", height 9 1/2", depth 18"

aisle seat: width 10 1/2", height 9 1/2"

NOTE: SWA flies only 737's so this applies to all of their aircraft.
