What are US domestic luggage rules like now?

I'm heading out to Vegas in a few days for a four-day business trip and plan on bringing my Aeronaut + Imago combo. I was wondering if I should pack my Aeronaut with the mindset that it would be checked. Has anybody flown US domestic recently? What are luggage rules like now?

    hi akilae,

i did a bit of traveling earlier this month, and i had no issues traveling with the western flyer + imago as carry on baggage. i'm sure that i would have been just fine with the aeronaut and tri-star also.

There have been no changes to domestic travel. Only travel to the United States.

However, Airlines can always change their own baggage policies. It's best to check with yours.

delta to allow free checked bag for delta skymiles credit card members

received an email from delta today stating that:

"Beginning June 1st, travelers with a Gold, Platinum or Reserve Delta SkyMiles Credit Card from American Express — and up to eight travel companions — may check their first bag for free on Delta and Delta Connection® flights."

i hope that other airlines will follow suit so that we're not paying when we have to check a bag. but i still prefer one bagging it with my aeronaut whenever i can!

            Hi Akilae,
While not an Aeronaut, I just did a four night trip with my Western Flyer and Synapse. Carried both on board all four (30+/-passenger) planes. No issues through security or from flight crews looking for bags to gate check. I mostly saw rolling bags being gate checked.
            Happy travels,

I hope it would be the same with a Large Cafe Bag and Brain Bag setup.

              What do you think?

My last trip was international but Air France did not hassle me about bringing an Aeronaut and a Super Ego into the cabin. I was careful to make sure that the Super Ego was not visibly stuffed to the gills. The Aeronaut (full of food stuffs) went overhead nicely and the Super Ego went under the seat in front without any problems.
