    Imago as dog bag

I'm sorry to say I missed a good chance to submit a product related photo. Last Saturday I packed my dog utility bag (aka the Imago) and the dog into the car and hit the dog park. After asking around and researching I picked the Imago as my dog utility bag to carry water, bowl, treats, waste bags, nylabones, bandana, and an extra long leash. It's been working pretty well so this day I decided to give it a big test. Not only did we hit the dog park (which suddenly our dog Georgia likes) but we also went to a local German resturant that has so far allowed our dog to dine with us on the patio. Since I knew I would be hitting the resturant and this time no other humans could make the trip, I had to also pack some magazines to read and I had to carry the small LL Bean dog blanket we bought for Georgia to rest on. As I'm waiting on food and reading my magazines, it dawns on me what a perfect "friend of Riley" moment this is. Sadly I left the DSLR at home and I had loaned the P&S camera out.

But to plug the Imago for TB let me say that I was able to fit everything, including the blanket in the Imago. The blanket was the hardest to figure out but by folding it up I could latch it under the main flap with no problem.

Next time I'll try to remember the camera. Georgia is pretty good at posing for the camera and I thought a shot of her with the Imago over her head would have been funny. Maybe next time.

Do remember your camera! That'd be a great picture.

Well, I got some shots but not too happy with how they came out. With the flash I got bad red/blue eye that I tried to fix but my Photoshop skills are bad. It was also funny because Georgia was afraid of the Imago so I had to put it to the side and temp her with treats. She would not let me put it around her. These were taken at a resturant that allows us to take her with us on the porch. It's a bit chilly still here so we bring blankets for her to bed down on while we eat. We first hit the dog park so we wear her out.

The Imago is now her dog bag. It carries her water, a portable bowl for water, treats in the open pocket under the flap, a spare harness, a nylabone, a bandana, dog bags, and sometimes a camera. I like the Q-AM strap for when I'm at the park because often I need to run over and break up a dog dispute.

      No edits on this one

Here's one with no flash but it's blurry. This is her "I'm the dog" look.

        Imago as dog bag

I had another post on the topic but I changed some photos and broke the links so I started this thread to show Riley how my dog Georgia likes the Imago. Well, actually she kind of freaked out when I tried to put the Imago near her but it's main use is to carry her stuff on walks or trips, so it's a "dog bag". I carry her water, a portable bowl, bandana for slobber from other dogs at the park, extra leash and harness, a nylabone or two, and of course training treats. With the Q-AM strap it's good for brisk walks or for breaking up fights at the dog park. Here are pictures after a trip to the dog park where we had lunch on the porch of a resturant which allows us to bring her when it's not busy. We brought extra blankets because it was still cool out.

No flash on this one so it's blurry but more accurate

I deleted some of the pictures because I didn't like them and couldn't fix the link. So I created a new thread. Hope no one minds.

Those are great pictures! Georgia is so cute! She reminds me of Lily.

Is it OK with you if I post one of the pictures on the blog?

Oh no! What we want is more photos of pets and TB bags!

At least, I want that. :)

              She is sooo gorgeous!

Sure if you think they're good enough (Georgia likes to get good coverage on the Internet). I didn't really capture what the bag holds very well. I put them in the TB group on Flickr too. This scene will probably be repeated tomorrow as our weekly ritual. If I get any better pictures I'll put them in the group as well.

Thanks for the link. I didn't know the details for the dogs they took in that case. Nice to know they are trying very hard. I did feel bad for the care giver in that first picture where he's trying to lay down on the dog bed with the dog on his chest - looks like he's going to have a sore back !!

Related to that story, I've been sucked into the Animal Cops shows that air on Animal Planet. All the stories just tear at you. Poor Georgia ends up getting hugged a lot after watching that show, which she typically responds with a heavy sigh as if to say "leave me alone I'm sleeping". :)

It's funny because there are moments where I stop and ask myself, "How did I get to the point where I not only find places to take the dog along but I also lug around several blankets to make her comfortable"? At those moments I stop, look down at Georgia, and she looks me as if to say "Oh, Hi. I'm the dog. Did you know? I am the dog. I am SO the dog". I then sigh and take note of how many people are looking at me as some kind of oddball as I make my way across the parking lot loaded down with all my dog supplies.

Wish I could remember the exact instant that little mutt sneaked her way into my heart. ;)

What a touching story. I'm glad that so many dog fans triumphed in this situation over an organization like PETA. As someone who donated to them for years, I was disappointed to learn that they believe that pitbulls ought to be wiped out and not bred.

Gosh! The title made me think that Tom had surprised us by developing a harness to convert Imago Bag into a Doggie Saddle bag! LOL!
