Five days with the Shop Bag

I received the shop bag about 5-6 days ago and have been using it since - when I finally was able to get hold of it. As I noted in an earlier post, my wife grabbed the bag shortly after I opened the package and was loathe to give it up. Since we got the bag, it continues to demonstrate it's usefulness. We have used it to go grocery shopping - it has a surprisingly large capacity. On our most recent trip the bag held 2 wine bottles, a head of Romaine lettuce, half dozen apples, a personal size watermelon, 4 cans of soup, two loaves of bread, and a box of frozen treats. The side pockets are fantastic for isolating items (they didn't even put the wine bottles in a separate bag as they sometimes do to "protect" the glass). This was a fairly heavy load and there were no signs of seams straining. The carry handles were quite comfortable to use. I have kept the bag in my car for the past couple of days and have found the bag amazingly handy to have around to carry things when my normal work bag (I vary between a Ristretto and ID) is full. I have used the Shop Bag to carry patient files between home and my office, to carry a set of jumper cables, workout gear, and dirty/clean laundry. The fact that the bag folds into one of its pockets makes it simple to carry around in a coat pocket or in my work bag. No evidence of wear/tear after a fews of abuse and it is easily brushed off and spot cleaned. (I have not done a complete wash/cleaning yet.) This bag has a level of flexibility and utility that I think folks will really like. I expect it to hold up well over time. Thanks for coming up with this bag TB and forum folk.

The Shop Sack - while you can't see it all, it has 2 boxes of cereal, two packages of dishwasher cleaner, some clothing, misc. cliff bars, a couple of cans of yams. the bag is inside out. It adds a bunch of space!!

Great picture and review, rabergnc. It might be useful to link to the original thread requesting this bag. The Shop Bag meets all the requested design features. The inside out picture makes it easier to see the (interior) pockets that the bag can fold into for easy carrying when empty. (See view e on the current Shop Bag product page: Folds into its own interior pocket for storage or travel.)

The side pockets really are great for holding bottles and chilled beverages (but I'd use the bag with the pockets on the inside, for extra support, when loading this up with bottles). The product page doesn't mention this, but you can also nicely fit those half-gallon size chilled plastic containers of milk, cider, or orange juice into one of those pockets. The temperature isolation works well, and even if the surface "sweats", it's kept separated from the other grocery items.

I'd be happy to link it back to the original thread. Alas - I am not sure how that is done. Assistance anyone?
