    Swift in Cork - Perfect

    Perfect. Just perfect.

I just received my pre-ordered Swift in Cork and - WOW. It's bigger than I was expecting (which I like) and the swath of cork trimmed in black is beyond beautiful. It stands upright on its own and the handles are more than long enough to slip over my shoulder, even with it filled. It is simply a stunning bag.

I ordered the Swift even though I don't knit primarily because of the cork but also because I wanted a bag to throw a couple of books in, maybe my little Acer Aspire One, my Kindle, or any of my other take-alongs. My stainless water bottle sits perfectly in one end, held in place by a small carbiner-esque clip, with plenty of room to spare for all my other goodies.

And the coolest thing for me is that the horizontal Freudian Slip fits! Yes, the corners stick out a bit, but I don't mind that at all. It's perfect for taking all my notes and supplies with me for a research session at the library or a long writing session at the beach or a coffee house. Just perfect.

This bag is now my number one bag. Thanks to Tom Bihn and all the crew for bringing this beautiful bag to production.

So glad that you like it. I agree that it's an amazingly beautiful bag - everyone asks me about mine! I also appreciate how well the Swift in Cork stands up on its own. And it seems to naturally repel pet hair.
Have a question? @Darcy (to make sure I see it)

A blog entry! I'm honored, Darcy. Thanks.

And thanks for the note about the cork not attracting pet hair. Fortunately, my cat is a pretty close match in color for the cork, but it's nice to know my bag won't be needing a rub down before I leave the house. ;)

      Great, great bag.

Well, the Swift in Cork has proved so popular that we've sold out of the first batch entirely. Our Seattle factory is making more - they'll ship in mid-late June.

I pre-ordered a Swift in Cork a while ago, but I also pre-ordered the TriStar, which won't ship until late June. Darcy, if it would help, you can send the Cork Swift I pre-ordered to someone else, since my order will be held until the TriStar is ready -- that way, someone else can enjoy the beautiful bag in the meantime, and I can wait until the next batch is ready!

            Just got mine!

WOW! What a great bag. I'm so happy I sprung for the Cork -- it is a really lovely fabric. Everything is such excellent quality. Usually the extra pouches and stuff are kind of junky (even with really expensive brands). With this everything is really super.

Can't WAIT to get it all "stashed" up!

Thanks, yeti. That's very generous of you. :)

I have to agree... this bag is fantastic. I completely understand how so many state that it will take over as their regular bag, and I am a messenger-style fantatic.

My knitting is happily ensconced in the cork and I get so many compliments on the bag.

Thanks again for a great design, both inside and out!
