I asked people along the way to take some pics of me with the Checkpoint Flyer I reviewed for Slashdot; these are my favorites:
1st is in Jordan, standing next to one of the Bedouin guards on duty at Petra, just outside the "Treasury" (large chamber) -- the really huge, ornate building that if you've not been to Petra you have possibly seen in National Geographic, the 3d Indiana Jones film, etc.
The 2d is on the ramparts walk that goes around the Old City of Jerusalem; if you ever have the chance, I recommend doing this. You pay a few bucks for entry to the walkway, which then leads you (in 2 sections; we did only the first, longer part) around the edges of the city, atop the walls. This is real estate that more than one party wants to possess; there are pockmarks in the walls to attest to this. In the Arab quarter, I watched soccer games, wanted to join in.
