A great introduction to the Smart Alec, Ruck Sack, and Synapse family. Thanks, maverick.

      Totally awesome!

The last shot shows the subtle colour (color) difference between Sapphire and Indigo.

Yes, it does. But for some reason the purplish tones of the Indigo don't translate as well on my screen -- it's not a color that renders well in "web-safe" colors. I have both a Sapphire Buzz and an Indigo Tri-Star, and various items in Plum. When I look at the Synapse page colors, I'm more inclined to order Plum. When I look at my Tri-Star (in person), the decision tilts more to the Indigo. The current Plum dye lots (judging from my 3D Clear Cube) appear to be a bit lighter than the Plum of my Original Buzz -- whose color I really like, and whose shade is different from the more magenta tones that were used in my Ristretto. I feel as though I should ask them to send me the Synapse in both colors, so I can choose the color I like better in person -- but then I might not send the second bag back! (I did put in my order for an Indigo Synapse).

          Hi Moriond,

It's so hard to judge online! I've been looking at the Synapse in plum & indigo, I understand the dilemma!

I agonised for a few days over colours for my soon-to-arrive Smart Alec. I ordered it earlier this week along with a Western Flyer. The WF was only available in Crimson - the rest were on back order and I wanted the bag for a trip leaving on Tuesday. I figured an indigo Smart Alec might be a bit over the top when carried together, so I got steel. It's scheduled to arrive in Sunny Sydney on Monday.

You're right - the Plum has changed slightly. I'm not sure exactly which dye lot your 3D Clear Cube is from - would you like us to send us a swatch of the "new" Plum?
Have a question? @Darcy (to make sure I see it)

              Darcy,

I don't know if that's an open offer, but if it is, I'd love a color swatch of the "new" plum. I'd wanted a plum Brain bag when I bought mine 2 years ago, but ordered (according to Casey) just minutes after the last one was sold (ended up w/ navy instead). My wife has a plum cafe bag and I really like the color, so when the Synapse was put up for pre-order, I ordered one in plum. But this conversation has me wondering if her bag, which is 1 1/2 years old, is the "old" plum, and that has me reconsidering my choice. So if you could send a swatch, that would be great.
