    Great Video Maverick.

Thanks for the video. Gives me some new ideas on how to use my Aeronaut.

Quick question. That looked like a Levenger Pen in the small clear wallet?

      hi north boy,

actually, that's a small clear organizer pouch with a sapphire dyneema back, and the pen is the montegrappa ballpoint. i use an emerald visconti gel ballpoint refill with it. it writes very smoothly and is a fun color. they offer a number of other interesting color choices. the montegrappa refills write better, however, if you're happy with black or blue ink.

Aeronaut Video Brings Out Numerous Jealousy in North Boy

Ok, I'm inattentive AND jealous. I should have known the Montegrappa as I've admired them for years. One day I'll buy one.

Maverick, if you're ever in the mood to do another video...how about demonstrating how the partitions on the ends of the Aeronaut can be opened to make one big bag. I'd like to see what that looks like.

              hi northboy,

if it provides any incentive, i passed by paradise pen company recently in tyson's corner mall and they were having a 20% off sale on montegrappa. i don't know if this was just at paradise pen company, or if this is a larger montegrappa sale.

my two fine pens are this montegrappa and a mont blanc starwalker rubber fineliner. i prefer having a pen that operates like a ballpoint, so the montegrappa stays in my bag and the mont blanc sits at home. i should find a new home for the mont blanc - i just haven't gotten around to it.

Great video, Maverick! I never dreamed I'd see someone demoing luggage on YouTube, and showing off their undies to boot. :)

Have you ever tried carrying a full suit in an Aeronaut?

                What about shoes?

Do you ever use packing cubes in your Aeronaut?

Ever carried smaller bags, like maybe a cafe bag, in an Aeronaut for a trip?

Back to the pen thing, has anyone here ever come across any high-quality lead pens? I shopped for lead pens recently at OfficeMax, and they were all the cheap, plastic kind made-in-China. I wound up getting a cheap Papermate set. Are there still any high-quality lead refillable pens out there, and are any of them made in USA?

                  Aeronaut and Pens

                  Maverick,

Thanks for the tip on Paradise Pen. I'll be in Vegas this week and the Paradise Pen store at the Fashion Show Mall is a requisite destination for me.

Perhaps if I win big I'll splurge on a new pen.

                  MtnMan,

If you're looking for a good quality mechanical lead pencil or anything in pens I do suggest Levenger. They have a good selection of their own brand and do carry some less expensive choices than Paradise Pen.

Thanks for the link. I'll keep them in mind. We'll see how long the Papermate holds out.

i don't wear suits much, but ozone actually addressed this topic in this thread which you may be familiar with.

i have carried my size 9 shoes in an end pocket of the aeronaut.

the product page also mentions that you can carry size 12 shoes in the end pockets.

this review illustrates shoes in the end pockets.

yes, i've carried the large cafe bag in the aeronaut for use at my destination, and that worked out great. i've also used the packing cube backpack as a backpack at my destination, and that also worked out great.

Thanks to both Maverick and North Boy.

What would be the maximum amount of days' worth of clothes you've ever packed in an Aeronaut?

Mu aunt works at Zippo, and over 20 years ago they made fine writing instruments believe it or not. She bought a lead pen and ballpoint pen set from Zippo for me, and they had my name engraved on them. Someone stole both pens within a year or so after she gave them to me. I kept wondering what someone would do with pens that have my name on them...

How tricky is it to refill one of the nicer lead pens? I recall the Zippo didn't "catch" refill leads very well.

while you can carry more (depending on what else is in your aeronaut), i always pack no more than 3-4 changes of clothes, regardless of the number of days i'll be traveling. i prefer to have my clothes laundered at my destination(s) than to carry more than 3-4 changes of clothes.

for my trip to india later this month, my aeronaut will hold a crazy creek camping chair, 3-4 changes of clothes, toiletries (in a 3d clear organizer cube), a journal, a book, headphones, and some snacks. my side effect will hold a camera, passport, travel documents, and wallet.
