thought i'd share a couple of pictures from the parade the day before...
the parade route gets pretty packed, and while disney feels like a pretty safe place, it's a good idea not to tempt someone by leaving a bag easily accessible. it's in these situations where i like being able to wear a backpack in front rather than behind me.
though, by the end of the day yesterday, i was leaving the synapse unattended at our table while we went to get dinner at the buffet.
if i may add, for those of you who are vegetarian and decide one day to visit walt disney world, i highly recommend dining at the animal kingdom lodge. there are two restaurants right next to each other that each offer cuisine with an african influence: jiko and boma, that we really liked.
jiko is a very nice restaurant where you order off of the menu. they have a dedicated vegetarian menu, and the chef came out and spent time to speak with us about what we could and couldn't have being lactovegetarian, as well as about what else he could prepare for us. my favorite item there was a dish that is normally made with fish and vegetables in a coconut curry. he prepared it with seared tofu and vegetables in the coconut curry sauce. he also mentioned that all of the sauces for the vegetarian dishes were made with a vegetable stock.
boma is a buffet with a huge selection of vegetarian options. everything was excellent, but my favorite were two simple dishes: couscous marakesh and a sweet potato dish.
anyhow, this was supposed to be about the parade the day before... :)
