I love my Imago and Small Cafe Bag!

I received my bags a week ago, and after carrying them around a while, I must say I've never carried anything better.

I got the Imago in Olive/Linen/Wasabi. The linen color is darker than it looked on my monitor, which makes it even better for me. I was carrying a backpack for my classes, and I was a little nervous about going to a messenger, but I hardly feel the weight with my Imago. I really like that I can carry two big textbooks, a fairly large notebook, a Kindle, my ipod, sunglasses, wallet, various pens, chap stick, Aleve, a water bottle, and a mini stapler, and still have room left for little things. I like to carry my blue books in the back pocket. The adjustability of the strap is nice, because I carry it at different lengths depending on what I have in it. But perhaps my favorite features are the two rings for key straps. There is one in the main compartmen, and one on the outside under the flap. It makes carrying my keys convenient, and I don't have to look down to find them when I go to my car. ;)

My small cafe bag is olive/wasabi. (In case you were wondering, the olive/wasabi colors match my favorite three season coat and go well with what I wear in the summer, too.) My mother is a loyal Tom Bihn fan, and she has in her collection a large and a medium cafe bag. The medium is her EDC, but I found it a little too big for me. The least I can get away with carrying the better. I did use her LCB for school one day, which is why I decided to go with the Imago. My books fit perfectly, but not much else. The SCB can hold my Kindle, ipod, wallet, a 9.6 x 6 inch notebook, a paperback, and various small items. I don't always carry that much, but it's nice to know I can when I need to.

I have a medium timbuk2 shagg bag (the new version of the slider) that perfectly fits my Droid. I don't like that it only comes in one color, but I can swap it easily from bag to bag, and I can put a little cash, a credit card, and my ID in the front pocket if I need to. The other bad thing about it is that it does slide on the strap, but I solved this problem with a button (like you get as a campaign souvenir) on the strap below it. This works very well. It's not as much of an issue with my Imago, because I like to carry it higher than I do my SCB.

Thank you Tom Bihn, and everyone on this forum! I learned a lot about which bag would work for me by reading the various posts.

(I will post pics when I get a little free time.)

The Olive/Linen/Wasabi color combination for the Imago sounds really nice, and it would be great to see pictures. Olive/Wasabi for the Cafe bag seems to be a popular selection right now.

If they decide to bring back more cork flap options for the Imago in Cordura, I think that Olive/Cork/Wasabi would make a popular combination.

I am waiting for the steel/cork/wasabi combination to become available! I had hoped it would be ready for an upcoming trip, but was told that I would have to wait till after my trip. :(

However, I did buy a bunch of accessories for the Imago in advance!

That color combination is definitely worth the wait, drpher. I had no intention of buying an Imago at all until I saw the cork-steel-wasabi version at the Tom Bihn showroom. I was with my daughter to buy Christmas presents--next thing I knew, the Imago was being loaded into my car. I swear I have no memory of how I could have done that! After all, I have three cafe bags and positively, definitely, no foolin' didn't need another bag.

Having said all that, I use the Imago a lot. It fits a netbook sized computer plus assorted files and books with no problem at all for everyday work use, and it's the perfect size for a generous sized "personal item" on long flights. It came to spring training with me this weekend, and swallows my computer, water bottle, sunglasses, sweater, extra sunscreen, and Mariners annual with room to spare. (And today it will take a mini umbrella and probably no sunglasses. ):(

I get a lot of compliments on it--especially paired with my steell Tristar. One really good looking bag, that works as good as it looks.

          Hey, flitcraft,
Thanks for the info! It looks like I'll have to wait even longer than mid-March now, but I can't wait to see the colors in person! I'm planning to use it as an every day and also travel bag.
          Cheers!

              Pics of SCB

I had plenty of room left over after I put this stuff in my bag. The other pics are for Droid users looking for a carrying option.

Okay, that wasn't so hard. Both bags carry way more stuff than I showed, and they're both comfortable, even when they're loaded. I did get to test the water resistant theory the other day at school, and nothing in my Imago was even remotely damp. I use the back pocket on it a lot to carry blue books.

                  Hi bagaddict,

Thanks for the great pictures. The Olive/Linen/Wasabi color combination for the Imago looks even better than I imagined it would. Unfortunately, that combo no longer seems to be available :( . There's a new Olive/Cork/Steel offering, though. I do like the Wasabi in the interior -- it makes items easy to locate.
