these are aboard a dc metro train.

the first picture shows the bags stowed at my feet - the train was packed, and there are no luggage racks aboard the dc metro trains.

  • the western flyer and synapse aboard a train or two

i was in philadelphia for work. while i didn't get to go take pictures around the city this time, i did manage to get pictures of the western flyer and synapse on a subway in dc, at the amtrak carry-on luggage sizer, and aboard a new jersey transit train (the new jersey transit wasn't a planned part of the trip, but i was happy to get the pictures).

just a note - let the amtrak conductor know that you're very passionate about your bags and that you want to take a picture of them before you take the picture. they are more likely to be understanding if you do that. i would not recommend the philosophy of "it's better to ask for forgiveness rather than to ask for permission here."
