My wife and I spent a week in Guanajuato, Mexico earlier this month, and as usual we traveled carry-on only. We've both been using Aeronauts for a few years now, but this time we each carried a Synapse as well. My wife also took along a Side Effect (which on the plane was carried inside her Synapse) to use on the many hikes and walks she knew we would take. As usual, all of the bags performed flawlessly, and we were able to take an amazing amount of clothes, books, and tech (iPad and a netbook) with us. In her Aeronaut, my wife packed 9 blouses, 8 t-shirts, 3 summer dresses, 4 skirts, 4 capri pants, 1 pair of jeans, 3 pair of shoes, a pair of flip flops, 6 scarves/shawls, and lots more. I used my Synapse as my bag for the daily treks around town, and it was great: light, flexible, and plenty of extra room if we bought something along the way (or if my wife wanted to ditch her sweater as the day warmed up).
Here are a few photos of the bags in action:
My wife loves the Side Effect, especially because it's so easy to change from a shoulder bag to a waist pack, depending on the need.

This is at the top of one of the mountains surrounding Guanajuato looking out at the city below (our morning hike, though it's up steep stairs rather than a dirt trail). That's the Side Effect's strap over her shoulder.

A couple of shots of me with the Synapse.

This was right before we left -- my wife waiting for a cab to take us to the airport, surrounded by all our bags. It was a great trip and our Tom Bihn bags once again served us well.
