Yep. Awesomepants has it... Early version of Smart Alec before the Gatekeeper attachments for the Pockets and with Brain Cell clips instead of cache rails, etc.
Good score for a yard sale!“Them as can do has to do for them as can't. And someone has to speak up for them as has no voices.”

Hi Bayareaguy That’s an earlier version of the Smart Alec from before the redesign in 2012 to permit the additions of external upper and lower modular pockets. The sides of the bag are black 1000d Cordura and only the panel at the top and front is 1050d Ballistic Nylon. The inside of the bag is unlined, and there are different variations in the way the pockets inside the lid were laid out depending on exactly when it was made. The back webbing strip allows you to attach a vertical Brain Cell for a laptop to the back wall via those annex clips. A second webbing strip lower down lets you attach a Horizontal Brain Cell. The early color options were Black Crimson Grape Kiwi Steel and Sage Ballistic Nylon. You can see what the front panel in Sage looks like if you go to Sacharissa ’s post in the Do Aubergine and Plum Go Together? thread
ETA: There’s a hack Darcy described to allow you to suspend a current version cache from the Annex Clip webbing points. You can read in and view the embedded video clip in my post in the Laptop cache win an older Brain Bag thread
