Brain Bag + Western Flyer large packing cube

I posted this info on the Facebook page, but this location is better for researching later. After using a Synapse and the Aeronaut for most travel, I decided to get a larger backpack style bag to use either alone for a long weekend or in addition to the Aeronaut for longer trips. I don't always travel with my 13" MacBook Pro, and the Synapse is big enough to hold it (in a Checkpoint Flyer case), but I wanted something bigger for more flexibility.

Enter the Brain Bag! I'm on a four-day work trip right now, and it was a perfect time to try out this new combo. We traveled by train, which started out with me on foot and taking a bus, too. I put my clothes in the Western Flyer large packing cube in the back section of the Brain Bag, and put the laptop (the long side down, although obviously it would fit long side up) in the front section, which left a bunch of room above it. Add an almost-embarassing number of organizer pouches and such, and I packed everything (clothes, laptop, additional electronics, toiletries, etc.) in the Brain Bag. One of my work colleagues asked if I sent my suitcase with someone else ... nope! Just this backpack!

I love the Western Flyer packing cube - it fits really well in the back of the Brain Bag, and there's enough room on the sides to tuck a few other items away. I may get a large organizer pouch for my other sundry paper items (People magazine, travel documents, etc.), but my iPad cache substituted well enough for this trip.

The Brain Bag's format of two separate large areas makes for easy computer + clothing organization, and is perfect for me!

Oh, for the record, I'm 5'3" and was a little worried about the Brain Bag being a little too big for me. Yes, it isn't a small bag. I didn't have trouble wearing it, however, and am glad to have the space it allows.
