    Well, I think I succeeded!

He called me when he got it and started with, "I hate you." By which I took him to mean that he had heretofore avoided my TB addiction and that he considered me a pusher of the vilest sort. I assumed this because he then spent about 5 minutes praising the bag he referred to as his new "shuttlecraft" for his iPad.

Count another among the converts as he has been eyeing my Tristar more and more when we travel together!

Do you think he'll carry the iPad along while he's touristing, or is he likely to leave it at the hotel and only bring it along to cafes so that he can gave out upon the beautiful scenery, sip an exotic beverage, and send you emails describing how much he is enjoying his trip?

Does he already have a favorite sachel that he carries around with him? If so, perhaps that would provide a clue about what he'd like best.

And as a last resort, will there be time for him to exchange his gift before the trip if he doesn't take to the one you choose for him?

Is there any chance he will have along a Kindle, other reading material, camera, binoculars, or want a light jacket, or hat? If the answer to those is yes, then he would benefit from the larger capacity of the Ristretto imho.

Personally I prefer the aesthetic of the Ristretto more. Perhaps for someone uninitiated to all things Tom Bihn, something with a cleaner look is a better introduction. Also the Ristretto doesn't scream "Look, I have an expensive electronic device in here!" as much because of its more standard dimensions.

    Ristretto for Ipad or Breve?

So, I need a little input. My business partner is turning 50 this year and his wife is taking him on a 2 week trip to Greece celebrate. Yes, I hate him too!

He is not going to take a laptop, only his iPad 2, so my thought is the perfect birthday present is a Tom Bihn bag...but which one? He is a minimalist kind of guy but not having laid hands on either one of these I am unsure which is a better option.

He is NOT a color guy so I would be looking at black or steel in either case and I am not positive how much benefit the bigger payload of the Ristretto would be or if it would be too murselike for him...

    Thoughts anyone??
Working...
