Zipper Security-Another Idea

I came across these little Caribiner-ettes recently and I have been using them to keep the Zipper Pulls together on the Synapse.

Not a lot of security but they are Gated with springs and I know I can't get past them quickly even holding the bag in front of my face!

Going through Airports recently I feel more confident using them for sure and while on the sceening belt they will not let the zippers open unless planned.

The Bottom compartment is unfortunately on its own though?
I am working on it.

I'm going to try to explain how I secure the bottom pocket of my Synapse. I have two 1.5 inch S clips like yours. As you're looking at the zippers on the Synapse I close the large part of the pack with both zippers on the left side. Then if you put both S clips on the top most zipper you can hook one to the bottom pocket zipper. It secures the large pocket zipper to the bottom pocket zipper and neither can be opened without removing the S clips. I hope that makes sense. I'm going to take a photo and ask Katy if she'll put it up for me. I've never been successful getting pictures uploaded to the TB forum. I'm technologically challenged.

and where do you get these relatively flat looking carabiner-ettes? I can only find fairly chunky and heavy ones--even if small at sporting stores. Info on the carabiners would be great!

The s-biners shown are these: Nite Ize S-biner they can be found at REI and at most home depot or lowe's stores and probably amazon, etc online.

The metal ones are flatter but the plastic ones have their uses too. I find them handy because you can undo just one side which minimizes the risk of losing it or dropping something.

I picked mine up at Cabelas but as autolycus suggested they do carry them at Amazon. A number of Niteize products are available there, free shipping with a $25 purchase. I didn't fine any "search for a retailer" on their web site. When hooked up like they are in my photo it would take one more to lock the two small and left side pocket. The right side pocket is on its own.

Having just been at an REI store over the weekend, I can confirm that they carry a ton of them in the stores. Look for them on spinning stands closer to the cash register areas.
