    Kids with bags

My littlest little got her first TB bag today. Plum MCB. It's a great size for her books and dollies, but even with the doubled strap (don't ask me how hard it was to feed the slider through the shoulder pad, twice no less an Ultrasuede Strap Wrap will be on the next order) it's a little oversized for her small frame.
Needless to say, once mommy girlified it (she's that kind of girl, I can't imagine where she gets it from?) she was ecstatic to sport her new bag! Zuri says, "Thanks Mr. Tom for making such amazing bags!"

I really, really like TB Bags!

Beautiful girls get their taste (and their looks!) from their mommies!

She's adorable! Maybe I can find some sort of brooch to put on Sierra's black MCB. She keeps her Nintendo Ds, American Girl magazines, & Littlest Pet Shops in hers.

TOO CUTE!! I love the peony - what a great idea (and a fun project for mom).

She'll still be carrying it ten years from now. Send in another photo then.

Oh, dorayme, you may have pushed me over the edge! So adorable. I've been ruminating about an azalea SCB and plum SCB for two very adorable little girls....but now you've got me wondering if I should order my girls MCBs instead?! Thanks for the craft link (on a previous post) as well, these same two girls and I hope to give them a whirl over spring break! Zuri is lucky to have a mama like you...and Tom Bihn is lucky to have a friend like you!

Thank you everyone for your kind comments.

Tlacltme, both the SCB and MCB are great and useful sizes. Will your darlings be carrying their bag more as a purse, or a carry all/bookbag? If they possibly will be carrying a notebook, go with the MCB. The SCB would be a tight fit and wouldn't allow for much else.

The flowers are easy, but hold the fabric to the side, not with your fingers above the flame! I thought this would be fun to do "with" Zuri, but when I started working with the biggest piece of fabric, I found myself easily forgetting and getting my fingers or knuckles too close to the true heat of the flame. I didn't trust myself to guide Zuri to do this part. The girls can help with the cutting though!
I put my tea light over the center section of my double stainless sink and worked over the sink jic any flames got out of hand. I figured if I had to drop a piece of flaming fabric, better into the stainless sink than anywhere else. None of my fabric actually went up in flames. One piece did burn more than I would have liked, mostly because it burns quickly. Most of the edges did exactly what I wanted, melted and curled. I hope my learning experiences can help anybody else who decides to make the flowers.

darbs, send me a PM with your address, I can make you a flower :)

So Zuri loves purple as much as her mama does, eh? She is so cute: especially those little feet in her sandals! Are those octopuses (octupi???) on them? And I have to let you know that every time I buy something purple now (and I do that a lot, since it's one of my favorite colors, too), I think of you, dorayme: it's as if the color belongs to you, at least in my mind. Just this week I bought a little purple keychain flashlight to attach to the Key Strap in my new Plum Side Effect; an impulse buy when I saw it in the grocery, but you instantly popped into my head!

Speaking of purple, I got some 1" metal book rings (like binder rings without the binder), thinking they would be good for attaching multiple OP's to bags (or cute toys/charms to the outside of bags). The colors are perfect: plum, azalea, wasabi and dark turquoise :) They're at Staples, called "book rings". Warning: they don't open easily, so I wouldn't use them for something you plan to remove and reattach often. Could be fun for those kiddo bags!

@ncb4 yes she does love purples and pinks. You saw them right, yes, she has pink octopi on her shoes. Purple is just such a great color, I feel lucky that there is a nice spectrum of purples in the TB lineup. I'm just sad I didn't see any indigo until it was all gone.
