Grateful for so many things, including several neighborhood cafes serving great coffee, and an amazing Founders Briefcase into which I can throw my MacBook and come work from a coffee shop on mornings like this when I wake up too tired to make coffee!

Hubby had a bunch of errands and then a rehearsal tonight. Instead of carrying his music loose like he would normally do, he used his new DLBC! Then he left it in the kitchen when he got home, and I thought it looked very seasonal next to all my Thanksgiving stuff.

Something old, something new!

An Icon, so new that it hadn't been announced yet when I took the photo this afternoon, and a Night Flight Travel Duffle, retired. (Also a Yarn Stuff Sack in Solar, in the seat pocket.) The Icon and NFTD fit nicely together under the seat in front of me.

Edited to add: I really, really like the Icon! More on that when I find time to write a review.



And another something new: a HLT1, clipped to the seat pocket. I put most of my in-flight stuff in the HLT1 and it worked well, though I think the HLT2 will work better for me for this use. (I chose the HLT1 because it's designed to fit the Synik 22 well and I have a Synik 22, but I haven't had time to try them together yet.)

It is Logic Blue... but the color doesn't look quite right on my screen, so be aware that this photo isn't a great representation of the true color! Logic Blue in real life is a little more blue-gray than how this looks on my screen. It is a very pretty color!

I really want to know your pros and cons on the Icon. I like the look of the bag, but I'm a little turned off by the main zipper position.

Here are my first impressions (after just a couple of hours): I think it is a wonderful, versatile bag (and a beauty!). Maybe not for carrying laptops but hey, there is live beyond electronic devices :)

The biggest concern seems to be the zipper position and thus I took a couple of shots to illuminate this a little. Please excuse the horrible light it is already dark around here in Old Europe...

As you can see, the main zipper is not on top but it sits very high on the bag and thus the "attic" is not very large and there is not much space that is above the zipper.



To illustrate how bigger items behave I took two books from my shelf which are a little higher than the zipper position (Dimension of books 15.3 x 23.4 x 4.7 cm / 6 x 9.2 x 1.9 inch):



You can slide them easily in the bag as the zipper opens wide.



And they fit easily in the bag. It is also no problem to rotate them and store them in landscape format (not shown).



I hope that answers the most pressing zipper questions. A more in depth review will follow but I need some more time to further explore the bag.
