Possibly a sign my children are no longer feelin' my attempts to capture the TB moment on travel days. Recently on our way to Japan, my son came up with the brilliant idea to cover all the TB logos. Haha, very funny. However, he is one of the biggest TB fans and takes his Brain Bag on every trip.

        So, these arrived today.

The Yeoman is huge and will definitely hold those two skirts. Camera I-O, somehow smaller than I was imagining, but it's more than enough to hold my two lenses, flash, and camera body. Maker's Bag is lovely, the NW Sky is lighter and easier to work with inside the bag's body; also just realised the big pocket in the back has two zips to open in either direction. The Iberian Packing Cube Shoulder Bag is huge, but will come in handy. The black Synapse 19 with the UV interior now has me with a 'hmm!' because I almost think I like it more than the French Blue/Steel S19 that I also bought. Don't know. The black medium Café Bag is for more formal situations where my Burnt Orange might be too 'loud' for work or whatever.

I'm still in love with the Zest and Island shopping bags and I used the larger one to bring home a meal. Easily fit the 2pint bottle of milk, the French stick, the two pasties and the two cinnamon swirls. I did have to carry the bag like a handbag though, I'm just that bit too short to carry a loaded shop bag at my side. It did keep the milk and French stick in great shape all the way home on the train. Grateful for the padded handles.

No picture of the shop bag getting used as a shopping bag, but this picture has the Aeronaut 45 (black/zest) that arrived with the shop bags. I'd also dumped several other bags that arrived with the bigger bags inside the A45 to facilitate getting it all put away.
I love my Burnt Orange Medium Cafe Bag, Black MCB, and Azure LCB.
The Preciouses: A45 in black/zest, (original) Yeoman Duffel in verde, Mini Yeoman Duffel in Burnt Orange, the S19 in black/ultraviolet, and the MB in black/northwest sky; Shop Bags in zest, monarch, sitka, fjord, and island.

          bag size comparisons?

There were mentions in another post about size comparisons. I did a few shots, but perhaps could do better when we have more sunshine.

The Aeronaut 45 (A45) is on the left, with an azure Snake Charmer, next to an azure 3D Organiser Cube (3-1-1); moving on to the right is a wasabi size 3 Travel Stuff Sack ('TSS') and atop it is a size 2 ultraviolet TSS. Below the TSS is a steel Clear Quarter Packing Cube and to the left of it is a burnt orange mini Q-kit.

My Forest/UV NFTD finally made it out of the house (together with my Steel dyneema/Steel S19!). This is a very roomy bag--I squashed 2 medium-sized bags of muesli in a side pocket and clothes (2 dress pants and 2 cotton polos), a hardcover book, *and* a folded-up ballistic LS into the main compartment. The First Aid Kit also fits the side pocket with lots of room to spare. I hand-carried this bag without the absolute strap.

Here it is with one of my favorite shoes-- an old-school pair of Grinders from back when they were made in the UK-- under the seat on Tiger Air. As someone who has always been bothered by having to put my backpack front-down under the seat, I'm glad to have a bag that can be stowed away so neatly. It's very compact and nondescript and I almost wished I travelled more so that I could use it as a travel bag more often. I think it really shines in this capacity.

This totally made my morning! I met a most awesome young lady at Union Station in Washington, DC! She was carrying a Synapse 19, and I had my Synapse 25!

Awesome!! That looks like Steel Dyneema - a rare sighting, even! And I love the bemused looks of the people around you two, lol. :)

I appreciate you posting these comparisons! I have been curious about the Snake Charmer but always imagined it as a slightly longer version of the 3DCOC. It looks like it is more comparable to the CQPC though! And it's helpful to see how big the Q-kit is, too.

                    That was indeed Steel Dyneema!

Yes, her friends didn't quite understand why I was asking if could get a picture of our Synapses for the forums! ;)

It's really interesting how our subconscious processes what is around us. I got a cup of coffee and was walking to the gate to catch my train. I wasn't a hurry, but I also wasn't really looking around, just making my way to the gate where I would catch my train. And the Synapse registered with me as I was walking by.

This was me and my steel/solar dyneema Synapse 19! The exchange with my friends (not pictured, though they were very confused) went like this:

"So, you didn't know that guy?"

"No, we have the same backpack."

                        "And there's a forum?"

"Yeah, the bags have an online forum."

"And what do people do on the backpack forum?"

"It's not just backpacks. I have a knitting bag and a travel bag, and a couple other everyday bags from Tom Bihn too, and then there are accessories and compartment bags too. And the people on the forums post how they use them and take pictures--it's really helpful."

                        "The internet is truly amazing."

Welcome, notmarian -- I'm glad you've joined! This is such a cool story.

And I'm reminded (by today's holiday, not your chance encounter with maverick, hehe!) of how we received a hand-written note about eight years back from a couple who met through our Forums and got married. :)
Have a question? @Darcy (to make sure I see it)

Current carry: testing new potential materials in the form of Original Large Shop Bags.

The famous Donner Trail is steps from my friend's house here in Truckee. Don't worry, we had food with us.

Icebreaker store is next! Then the Patagonia outlet in Reno. This is the best trip ever!
