I was surprised to see Carrology doing a review/self experience with a Smart Alec. I thought my morning eyes identify could-be-a Smart Alec and it turned "yes, a Smart Alec" in a real "pack-full" condition.

Ah, I saw this! Makes me love the TARDIS powers of my SA even more.

Amazing. Now, I have more reason to get an A30. Not exactly this year, unless Solar return and even better with limited run Coyote/Solar or Verde/Solar. Lol
Anyway, I was very amazed by the Author's challenge that he could easily switch all his stuffs from A45 to A30. I am not sure how as I have yet to experiment. One thing majorly I learnt is the Side Pocket of A30 indeed look bigger. I find that great so I could just squeeze in all the Used Clothes in there - wouldn't need to use any Stuff Sack.

Despite my ardent love for my A30, I'm really tempted to get a SA. I try hard not to acquire bags that I don't really need but I want one!

@Holly The problem is that TB bags are sneaky... after you meet then, you start to imagine where that bag could take you, specially a backpack with an adventurous appeal like the SA.

Then you start to play with packing setups and configurations, destinations and purposes.

Bottom line is that given sometime you will have a need for it, specially if you already like it and imagine yourself using it.

              I just surrender to a Gray/Wasabi S25, so I know the felling! ;)

I totally agree! I don't *need* a WF or an A30, especially since their cargo capacity is so similar to that of the SA, but I would love to see how I might be able to configure my stuff in each one. Would my gear fit, and how would each bag "carry" when loaded up? Would one be more/less comfortable to wear, or would another better suit my packing style/organizational needs? So many questions which I can't yet answer, because my wallet told me not to...

Oh, I know, blackbird and eWalker! I've already loved and passed on a Tristar (GREAT bag--I just prefer duffle/open cavity type bags) and now it's the lure of a backpack style bag (SA is in the lead over an S25 due to its styling but they are both tempting). We all know the answer is that all the bags are not only full of style, substance, and durability but also useful for so many different things. I have a gift certificate burning a hole in my pocket, too but I'm trying to hold out until March when new designs emerge! SO difficult to wait...so I may not

I've been using my SA all winter instead of an S19, mostly so I have extra room for hat, gloves, scarf, and my lunch. I love how it swallows everything, leaving my hands free for the inevitable falls on ice :-/

I had purchased an S25 over a year ago and just don't use it that much. While I am madly in love with my S19, I feel I can never get the S25 packed quite right, and I find the shape and openness (and the fact that it sits upright when you set it on the ground) of the SA to be much better suited to my needs. I'm actually thinking of getting another one for Mrs. Nukediver, who has been using the S25 but not lovin' it.

Plus one to James Turner for the mention of a spoon. It was a requirement on high school backpacking trips and I keep one in the glove compartment of my car for emergency dives into ice cream pints, but I think I need to add one to my travel kit.

I've wanted an SA since someone on this forum pointed out that they stand open really nicely, but I don't actually need such a thing. Or do I?
