It is St. Eugene Resort and Casino, just outside Cranbrook BC. It is a very lovely place!

I think a Tb travel group would be hilarious! It could even be divided into subgroups! The aeronaut group, the tristar group and the wf/synapsegroup! Count me in!

Road scholar is the new and revised name for elderhostel. I have wanted to go on elderhostel trips since iwas about 30. Either you or your travel partner must be over 55. I have no trouble meeting that requirement! They have hundreds of different tours in north America and elsewhere in the world. This was a try out for me as my travel buddies lack either the money or the inclination to travel as much as i wish to. I would gladly go on one again.

Yes it isan amazing place and definitely thriving. A friend's daughter's wedding was held ghere and everything was perfect.venue just the right size, food excellent and a deck for the little kids to run around on when they ate too much chocolate! Thriving is the best revenge!

It is great to see that St. Eugene is now thriving. There is a senior member of an urban exploration group I belong to that made several visits to the site before the the renovations in the 70s and before the resort opened. It was in pretty rough shape both times, black mould, burnt furniture and horribly racist grafitti on almost every wall with empty beer cans, Listerene bottles and cans of Lysol littering the ground.

At one point I believe it was slated for demolition and I'm glad it wasn't, even with it's sometimes troubled past it is still an amazing building in an amazing location.

Here are my Western Flyer and Swift in the mountains. I stayed at a lovely resort/casino in a former residential school. The display there says that the school took away their culture and the resort is helping them to get it back. For those of you interested in wildlife there was an osprey nesting platform and a colony of endangered bats at the resort. We timed it just right and got to see hundreds of bats leaving on their evening hunt.

Seeing this lovely Ultraviolet Dyneema Synapse makes me wonder...how likely is it that the heavier Dyneema will be available in ultraviolet? Can't you just see an Ultraviolet Dyneema Pilot? Perfect traveling companion for Aubergine... :-)
Seems like an Ultraviolet Dyneema Side Effect could easily happen....hint, hint....:-)

I am just back from a Road Scholar (formerly Elderhostel) Trip to Arizona and New Mexico, learning about the ancient and modern peoples of that region. We visited Flagstaff, Walnut Canyon, Chinle, Old Oraibi, Canyon de Chelly, Hubbell Trading Post, Window Rock, Gallup NM and Chaco Canyon. We had lectures and/or demonstrations every day, many of them from the native people of the area. It was a great trip!

I took my WF and Swift and loaned my Synapse to a friend who went with me. Here are some pics of the bags on their travels:

Of course, Shiva! The first two pictures were taken in the courtyard outside our apartment in Madrid. My SIL was going there to a conference and she invited me to join her for a week. So the trip only cost me the flight, food and incidentals. The apartment was within easy walking distance of all the art galleries. A perfect location and very reasonably priced.

I went to Spain again last spring with a friend for 2 1/2 weeks. We visited Granada, Sevilla, Cordoba, Madrid and rural Andalusia. My WF was my only bag for both trips.

I go to San Francisco every year or two with another friend. She shops at Saks, i shop at Macys, we both eat yummy food and ride the cable car. That time i also did major yarn damage at Imagiknits and saw a totally naked man standing on a street corner nearby!

Two years ago I spent two weeks in Iceland (my family is from there). It is an amazing country and i took some of the best photographs ever. I dont remember if i had my wf at that point, but the synapse was a great daybag/camera bag.

I have been to Cuba twice and had a wonderful time, both times. Jibacoa is out in the countryside and has terrific snorkeling right off the beach. The people are lovely, kind, generous and desperately poor. A tube of toothpaste costs a day's wage and food is rationed.

The cottage is my brother's on a tiny lake in Quebec, about 2 1/2 hours north of Ottawa.

In my opinion, the wf is the ideal travel bag and very helpful in keeping me from overpacking.

You really get around (and I'm envious)! Thanks for the photos! As a smaller guy I have the same issue with the photos of the WF on Flickr and these help a lot. Was the WF your main bag for the trip to Spain? I hope to be going there in the not too distant future.
