    A trip with the Aeronaut

    Hi Folks,

Here are some pictures of my Aeronaut on a recent trip.

In the main compartment, I had all of my clothes (4 shirts, 2 t-shirts, 2 pairs of shorts, socks, underwear, The DaVinci Code (hardback), the Size 4 Brain Cell, power adapters (in the zippered area on the top), and food in a tupperwear container. In one of the side compartments, I had my shoes, which fit without any problem; in the other side compartment, I had bathroom articles. I had the food at the very top with the Brain Cell just underneath. This made it easy to pull out the Powerbook when going through security. I pulled it out before I got to the front.

Thank you for the pictures! Awesome!

(You travel with a hardcover? I'm impressed and a little bewildered.)

      a hardcover book

      hi there,

yes, a hard cover weighs a little more and takes up a little more room. but it feels nicer in my hand when i am reading it, so i don't mind.

        Hi,

Nice pictures. For what it's worth, if you're not using the second side pocket for shoes, it's a convenient place to store books. For example, you can fit any standard hardcover book, even one twice as thick as the Da Vinci Code, into the pocket. Of course, it's even easier if you are carrying paperbacks. The side pockets provide easier access to books while you travel, since you can access and open them when the bag is stowed (for example, in an overhead bin). And even when the Aeronaut is not stored away, it's easier and faster to unzip the side compartment (where the zipper runs along two sides), than to unzip the 3-sided "U" shaped zipper of the main compartment -- chances are you won't have to fully unzip anyway, since books are likely to in immediate and accessible reach. There's enough structural support so that books placed in the side compartments are not stressed or warped. Just my experience. YMMV.

          Hi Maverick,

Do you work at an Apple store? The t-shirt in the pic looks like a store opening shirt. A guy I work with has one just like it.

            Hi PB,

I don't work at the Apple Store, but yes, that is an opening day T-Shirt from the Clarendon Store in Virginia. When I was in Mountain View, CA, I made a trip to the Apple Campus and visited "The Company Store." Unlike the rest of the Apple Stores (that I have been to), they sell a lot of fun Apple branded wear, including onesee's, shirts, hats, cups, pens, bags, and more.

Here is a picture of my son in an Apple onesee.

I didn't take any pictures... but!

I just took my Aeronaut for its first spin last week, and it is fabulous. Great great great for walking around the airport because you can carry it so many different ways and it fits perfectly in overhead. It packs really well, also. I was pretty surprised by how much stuff I managed to get in there.

Now I just need to plan more trips so I have excuses to use it. ;)
