Packing for Short Trips with the Tom Bihn Maker’s Bag.

A nerdy packing video I made, featuring the Tom Bihn Maker's Bag. The messenger bag is surprisingly versatile.

At first glance, it is meant as an Every Day Bag (EDC) but I thought it could also serve carry what I needed for short trips of 3-5 days in non-winter places.

12.5L may not look like a lot but if you pick your pieces carefully, you can travel even longer than the 3-5 days I mentioned, provided you are prepared to do some laundry.
I chose merino wool clothes primarily for their easy care, and ability to be worn for long periods without washing. And they dry relatively quickly when sink washed anyway. Also great for layering.

In addition to what was packed, worn: Wool and Prince merino wool Oxford shirt, Icebreaker merino wool boxers, Marmot Pipeline jeans, Icebreaker merino wool socks, a merino wool buff in the pocket, and a pair of Allbirds merino wool Runners.

      Thanks so much for this!
A lot of my travel stuff ends up packed in those medium Eagle Creek cubes and the Tom Bihn Organizer cubes, so they have become a mental unit of measurement for me. Seeing someone pack with those cubes helps me visualize the size of the bag.
      Great job at minimalist travel!

First of 2 videos about the Aeronaut 45.

This focussed on the differences between the old and new designs. There’s some really interesting small changes here that make a practical difference in use. Check it out.

Second of my 2 A45 reviews.

This ones a lot more in depth about the bag and how I use it.

Thanks for these, @Perseffect! I am interested in re-watching the first one with my Aeronaut 30 in hand, so I can figure out whether it has the new features!

Unboxed my pre-order as it was an early arrival, wanted to do my due diligence and review the items as TB crew was nice enough to send me my gear earlier than expected. I’ve posted a few videos to my YouTube channel...

Ordered some accessories to replace a few items and to add into a few areas where I was lacking.

I’m new to the world of Tom Bihn and have become really enchanted with the ecosystem so I wanted to make some videos for a creative release. They’re not fancy by any means but I’m getting better at shooting and editing every day and hope to make new videos on the regular. Enjoy.
