It's the bag I've been looking for! For anyone else who was wondering, here's a comparison to a Pilot, along with a navy color comparison amongst ballistic (Pilot), parapack (SE) and Cordura (PCBC). It's just a quick photo with my phone (in less than excellent light), but they all coordinate well.

Well, it's heeere!! I was on the fence about ordering this DLBC but I can see that it will be an invaluable addition to my budding collection. I love the plum, my first.

It seems like a perfect size, as others have said. It turns out that I have an all old but excellent padded insert with pockets from Levanger many years ago – – which fits perfectly! I'm sure there are others out there that fit this size case, but would not be at all surprised if we were treated to a TB addition along these lines. They're smart about these things… :-)

Just got mine today.

I have minor desired changes that I saw before purchase, but maybe that's just because I'm not totally tom bihnized (an elastic exterior water bottle on one (or both) ends, would serve me well - though few bihn bags have such a feature. So would a pen slot in one of the front pockets - or a mini freudian slip sized for one on the front pockets.)

But, I was surprised to find the tacking on the handles going not only through the exterior fabric, but through the lining separating the outer pockets and the inner pockets. Looking carefully at the inside pictures in this thread it seems there too. The way it is impinges on the ability to put something in the pocket that fits under the upper lip above the zipper. E.g. an ipad vertical in the back pocket or certain water bottles in the front pockets. It also makes access to the o-rings in the outer pockets difficult. and constrains the capacity to say, stuff in a layer of clothing, by not letting the pocket billow evenly. I thought it was to lift better, but it still lifts oddly if you have the side zipper open. Perhaps it's to support the 3 piece top of the side that the handles go through, but it seems an extra strip of fabric that didn't impinge on the pocket would do that. Anyone have a bag that wasn't tacked through?

Finally, it would be great to see these in a contrasting/brighter liner.

Would you mind to update your decision? I really looking forward to hear out your decision or your color preference, as I am in the verge of ordering a DLBP and I couldn't decide on a Coyote or Grey or even Olive.

I have a Grey DLBC and I love the color, but I would really like to have a variety of color in my TB Collection.

Time to bump this to the top with a "war zone" report.

A few months ago I bought a new Dell XPS13 laptop (great laptop BTW with all day battery life) and, while my all time favorite bag is the Ego, my Ego had no rail loops so I thought I'd get a DLBC and the new Retina cache (which fits the Dell almost perfectly - perhaps a tiny bit too snug but better than too loose) to go INSIDE the Ego, allow the Ego to function as if it had rail loops and be able to pull it out and use it as a small briefcase when necessary.

Recently I've been carrying just the DLBC. I cut a stiff piece of plastic to fit into the back pocket to give it a bit more structure (I used a old divider from an Empire Builder that was looking a bit ratty when the previous owner decided to break the tabs off) and that also keeps papers from getting winkled.

In the front I put the Dell Charger along with a pad of 3x5 post-it notes on one side and a battery pack, cables and phone charger in the other side. The computer goes into the cache with the bottom towards the front and the screen towards the rear - you'll see why this is important in a few moments.

My 92 year old mom was admitted to the hospital last week for a gall stone that caused a liver infection. After getting the stones out and flushing the bile duct, they scheduled her for a gall bladder removal today as it was looking (medical term ahead) "very angry." Long story short, I've been spending lots of time in the hospital with her and carried my DLBC with the Dell around all the time (no strap).

While I'm not a germophobe, I don't like putting bags on floors and certainly not on hospital floors. My mom had just gone into surgery and I was in the waiting room. I decided to go to the restroom, so I decided to prop the briefcase up on the paper towel dispenser. I jiggled to see if it was stable (it appeared to be) and as I was washing my hands I heard a loud crash. I looked around and noticed that the briefcase and computer had taken a dive from the perch and landed flat on the front of the bag.

How do I explain this to the insurance company was my first thought. I went back to the waiting room and pulled out the computer. Not a scratch, ding or dent and it works fine.

I'm not sure if I would have been so lucky had the screen been towards the charger and battery pack but this 4ft drop caused zero damage. My mom is back in her room now and did fine during surgery and I'm typing this on the Dell.

Needless to say I'm a big fan of the cache. Quite frankly, I never expected the cache to protect anything but a tip on flat ground and would keep it from getting scratched up from other things in the bag, but now I am a believer - this was also the first time ANY bag I've owned took such a tumble.

What I'd like to see is a bag with space next to the laptop for the power supply. The power supply in a front pocket against the screen just scares me - it scared me before and scares me even more now.

Yep, those Lulabop carabiners are great but the name is so goofy. It seems they are renaming them to "Heroclip" - still not great but better. The thing some companies can't seem to comprehend that those cutesy names with oddball spellings make their products impossible to find on the internet - searching for "cliplet" brings you to Microsoft.

OK, I'm getting off my soapbox now.

Today I brought my Absolute strap. That'll resolve this problem. The real winner here is the cache/DLBC combo. While I hope to never recreate this "test', it sure is good to know that the daily bumps won't damage the laptop.

I am switching my Work EDC back to the more compact and neat Daylight Briefcase. Yeahh!!
However, I am thinking to combo up DLBC (in full load) with Packing Cube Backpack, shall I decided to free my one-sided shoulder - plus it is more comfortable backpacking a bag than a single shoulder. Any advice/view on this?

I always want to get the Tri-Star Packing Cube Backpack and if this work, this really give me a whole good reason to get when the Black Halcyon is available. Can you guys advice me whether a full-load DLBC able to fit well in either Tri-Star PCBP or Aeronaut PCBP?

Because DLBC has a depth of 3.9".
While PCBP-TS only 3.5" and PCBP-A, surprisingly deeper 4.25".

I do have a DLBP which has a depth of 5.1. But I think PCBP is better to handle a full-load of DLBC as its Zip ran to far bottom than DLBP and PCBP is wider and longer in size.

The partitioned PCBP-A is very interesting. Can anyone who whether a full-load DLBC be able to fit on Top?
I might put a hardcase on the bottom to create a pocket, at the same time - supporting the weight on top.

That's why they use the weird spellings. Assuming you can remember can remember it, a unique spelling makes them easier to find on Google.
