My kiwi COW went on my hike with me today. It was extremely handy to clip the COW with my minimal essential $ and ID, etc, to the inside pocket of my backpack.

Where did your TB bag go lately

What do you do when you're on vacation? Take another vacation. We have decamped from Petropolis Brazil to Paraty, which is, so far, awesome.













Paraty has a wonderful old town that is beautifully preserved and painted with all kinds of fun colors. Great for walking, shopping and good eating. The sea is visible from many directions and a tour of the coastal islands is on our agenda, along with a jeep tour of local cachaca distilleries. The town seems to be a tourist destination mostly for Brazilians, but my gringo father and I hopefully didn't stand out too much. The local poussada we are staying at had great deals, as it is early in the workweek, and during the low season.

We traveled by car. I just packed up my A30 with a few outfits for our 3 day trip.

We had a much-needed honeymoon weekend away, where we did some canoeing and found a beaver lodge along the way...



We also saw a blue heron, a hawk, a bald eagle and a wolf! (TB came along in the form of my S19 and a SSB for food.)



And the next day we went on a short hike, again with the S19...

My brand new Smart Alec, !!!, my bike, and some duck friends at a reflecting pool. The ducks have been hanging around the fountains where I live. I think they're on vacation.

(I actually really enjoy flying out of McNamera terminal at DTW. If I'm flying Delta, I try to get to the airport a little earlier to enjoy it.)

I like DTW too, but I can't remember where Starbucks is (they got rid of the one in Terminal A). I'm on vacation and want my Chai latte. [emoji4] I also enjoy the Delta terminals in Minnie. I've had a mini vacation there last year. Relaxing in the Sky Club, shopping, hanging out at the sushi bar.
