Bottom back of a ballistic backpack wearing out dress pants, need a material to add

    Bottom back of a ballistic backpack wearing out dress pants, need a material to add

    I don't know where else to ask, I have another brands nylon backpack and the back of it is padded but not all the way to the bottom. So that small area that is just ballistic nylon will rub against my dress pants and it has worn out a few of them.

    Not sure what material to use or even where to get it, ideally I would like a very soft heavy fabric or even something similar to the padded back of the backpack to sew into it where it rubs against my pants.

    Can someone guide me to a website or vendor that I could get something like this?

    When my zippers where too noisy I did a Google search and found a few threads on this forum and even bought the zipper pulls from here so figured I could ask here.

    There are several different types of ballistic nylon. Perhaps you should try a Tom Bihn backpack instead of your other brand backpack. The ballistic in the Tom Bihn bags just slides easily and doesn't rub.

      I am currently looking at many different brand bags, including laptop brief cases but my current backpack is not old and I would like to try and fix the issue with it to keep it along with a new brief case style bag. I like the Cadet but I want the black color and that is 2 to 12 weeks away...

        You might check Google for luggage repair shops in your area and see if they might have any ideas. Also, a professional will have the equipment/skill to complete the modification properly.

          Thanks for that tip, I did not even realize to search for a luggage repair shop.
          (oh and I am not being sarcastic in case you thought so, I really didn't think of that)
