    Copilot vs 3 ring binder

Will the Copiot hold a 3 ring binder?

Any thoughts on how thick (1", 2", 3"?)

    Pics?

    Thank you!!

The problem with trying to use binders in the Co-Pilot is that as soon as you add the cover structure and metal rings, the outer framework pushes both up in height and out in width, to press against the dimensions of the bag. In other words, while the main compartment of the Co-Pilot can hold letter size sheets flat or in folders, putting the rigid surrounding cover and rings around the pages is what is going to stress your Co-Pilot.

I usually use some old Levenger folders (translucent and closed on three sides) to hold papers in a Co-Pilot.

If you must use a 3-ring style notebook, your best bet is to use one of the Mead Five Star Flexbinders that come in 1" or 1.5" thicknesses:

The front/back covers are flexible plastic and lie flat. The binder rings are plastic and don't cause you to use a lot of extra height or width. You can find these in your local stationary store/office supply/drug store chain or online on Amazon.
