    Need an EDC...in NYC

Does anyone with a Synapse 19 live in the NYC area? Would you be willing to meet for coffee (my treat) so I could see your bag and see how it fits?

I ask because I have a bad back and I'm sort of terrified of getting a bag I like but can't carry every day. I'm right across from Grand Central, and can leave any time most days. Please let me know!

Also, anyone with an Amazon Fire who got a cache? Where do I find the dimensions?

Apologies for piggybacking on this thread, but the subject and location are the same if anyone has a current model Cadet that I could take a quick look at and maybe even test-pack, coffee and a snack are on me while you wait. (Preferably lower Manhattan and preferably in Steel ).

Hello! I have a Synapse 25 as I am somewhat tall, and I do love it. It is a bit heavy for a backpack but is water resistant so the weight is a fair trade off. I use it for teaching and carrying my supplies and it works great. I put a Freudian Slip in it to organize papers but I typically do bot use that as much. If you are interested in checking mine out let me know as I am also in NYC.

I live in NYC and have had used my Synapse 19 as my primary EDC for almost four years. I works great, mainly because it is so well organized. I have a 3D organizer cube that I keep in the bottom compartment with my cables, etc. My iPhone 6 fits in the padded sleeve in one of the side pockets, and I have carried both a full-size iPad and my MacBook air in the main compartment. It's good for the subway because you can keep a bottle in it, too. The only drawback is that I'm starting to go to more meetings where a backpack isn't ideal, so I'm thinking of getting a Pilot.

If you meet in NYC, or NJ, I'd love to join. Want to see an S19 in the flesh, and was thinking of making the exact same request.

I have an S19 and S25 but I do not venture above 23rd Street. Perhaps we should all arrange for a TB meet and greet somewhere agreeable?

Not in NY, but regarding the bad back problem, I am somewhat of an expert after being hit in a construction zone by an 18 year old that thought it was more important to text than pay attention to driving. Had a repeat injury after I had to dodge someone speeding through a parking lot. Actually have travelled since using both the synapse 19 and 25. I consider the 19 petite and really easy to carry, no matter what is in it and use the 25 when I need a thick jacket.
I use synapses while touring and they are perfect, and my carry on is a fully loaded 30 or 45 aeronaut, used as backpacks. All 4 bags actually make my back feel better when wearing them, and I'm not that young either.

                  Possible NYC Quickie Get Together

I'll be at the north end (17th Street asphalt paved end across from Barnes & Noble) of Union Square Park on Thursday, February 23rd at 1:30 PM with my Navy/Solar Cadet if anyone wants to see it. That's not a Green Market Day so it shouldn't be crowded and the weather is supposed to be nice. The Cadet is about five years old but the only difference I see in the product description is the current zippers have their rubber seals on the inside while mine are on the outside. The Cadet has been used five or so days a week for five years so its not pristine.

I'm a 5'9" middle aged white guy with silver grey hair and beard named John. There probably won't be too many guys there with Navy/Solar Cadets.

I have a Synapse 19 (two actually: Black and Navy) as well as a Cadet. I'm in the NYC area and would be happy to show the bags. In fact I did a meet up with a fellow a few years ago and showed him my Synapse 19 and he said he was going to get it!

As for the Cadet I can't say what model it is: I got mine shortly after they debuted. Have there been many updates?

Feel free to PM me if interested. Good luck to you all!

I love this thread and should start something similar for Los Angeles. I'd love to see a WF, Tristar, Pilot and A30 in person.

                          Your beard is named John?

                          What's your hair called?
