accesories for Zephyr

Hi,

I'm new here, and looking at all the reviews, I've nearly decided on picking up the Zephyr. I will be mating it with a size 6T Brain Cell (Dell M1330), which I've estimated will leave me with about 2" of depth in the main pocket.

I was wondering what accessories you guys would recommend for organizing the remaining space in the bag. For example, my AC adapter and travel mouse, which I always bring with my laptop, as well as chargers for other devices.

Hi, Stephan! Welcome aboard!

I have two accessories that I use all the time for this sort of stuff: the snake charmer and a padded organizer puch.

the Snake Charmer is great because it is big and has the two sides, so you can keep your a/c brick and other charging stuff separated. It's especially useful if you have lots of charging devices. It is big, however... I can't speak to the fit in the Zephyr, but it takes up a good amount of space in my ID (I usually carry it with my Brain Bag).

The padded organizer pouch is ideal for more dleicate items (like a travel mouse). I usually keep my iPhone acccessories in that. It's nice because it also locks into those little snap-rings at the top of compartments for easy access.

welcome!

i don't have a zephyr, but i have found that the organizer pouches work really well to organize stuff. i have my work blackberry in a mini clear, my shure earphones in a mini padded, travel sized toothbrush and toothpaste in a mini cordura, flashlight and victorinox swisstool in a small cordura (though they would fit in a mini), portable recorder in a small clear, and receipts in a small clear.

selecting different colors and using clear pouches (again, with different colors for the back side) helps me to quickly locate what i need.

perhaps a picture would be in order. nah - let's go all out and do a video. give me a little time...

Well, looks like I'll be going with an organizer pouch! I think the Zephyr only has 1 ring in the front pouch, and none in the main compartment.

How many of these pouches can be attached to a single ring?

you can attach two to three directly, and two via the key strap.

I agree with the usefulness of all Organizer Pouches, Fabric, Clear and Padded.

I own many of the first two and one Padded.

The kind you choose depend if what you need more is protection, privacy or a quick way to find your stuff.


I will add to the mix the Clear Quarter Packing cube, it is rather large but I think it fits into the smaller zippered pocket of the Zephyr.
It can serve the purpose of the Snake Charmer but has the added benefit of being made of light weight Dyneema and clear vinyl, so it has one advantage over the Snake Charmer, it is water resistant.
