attaching two same sized organizer pouches together

i'd like an easy way to be able to carry my wallet, phone and keys - for example, if i'm going to the gym or anyplace else where you don't want to carry much else.

i was thinking one way to do this in a small package would be to be able to attach my wallet to a clear organizer pouch, back to back, and to attach my keys to the hook of the wallet or clear organizer pouch. the clear organizer pouch would hold the phone.

at first i thought this could be accomplished with velcro, but while one side of the velcro has a soft feel to it, the side that has the teeth feels a bit abraisive. this is not ideal when the wallet and clear organizer pouch are not joined at the hip.

does anyone have any thoughts on how to engineer this?

What are you going to do with them after they are attached? Are you putting them in a locker or trying to carry them in your pocket?

This probably won't help but what I do with my larger organizer pouches is buy a carabiner that comes with a key ring and I clip the pouches to the key ring and then use the carabiner to hang the pouches from a shower hook or locker hook.

i would carry them either in my hand or put them in the cup holder of the machine that i am using at the gym. they could also go into a jacket pocket. the idea is to make one small bundle that i can grab and take with me.

OK, I think I know where you're going now. Nothing comes to mind right away but maybe something will come to me later. I will also keep an eye out in the gym during my lunch workout to see if I spot any ideas.

I don't know how much you want to modify the pouches, or if this is even possible... but the first thing that came to mind was to install some snaps on the backside. I've never tried to put them through something as tough as the pouches though.

that is an interesting idea. so by snaps, you mean something like this?

Just to be clear, when you say "wallet," you are not, by chance, referring to the Tom Bihn Clear Organizer Wallet, are you? Because the simple solution there would just be to clip both your Clear Organizer Pouch and Clear Organizer Wallet to your keyring.

Otherwise, if your Clear Organizer Pouch is a mini sized one, you could put them all together in the Tom Bihn Kit. I mean, if it were me, it'd just be an excuse to buy the Kit. =)

indeed, i am referring to the tom bihn clear organizer wallet.

while you could clip both the wallet and the organizer pouch to the key ring, i guess what i wanted to do was kind of have the two come together back to back - as if they were one. and later come apart.

i don't know about the kit. it is a bit bulkier than the wallet + pouch back to back with keys attached. it is also a quite feminine in my opinion.

Ok, then how about sewing just the loop portion to both wallet and pouch, and then having a separate strip of back-to-back hook (this may need to just be a hook portion reverse folded back on itself and sewed shut)...

Or! Hey, real easy (and therefore probably not the solution you are looking for ) - use a rubber band! *hides* =P

It seems that some of the craft stores have a kit that comes with snaps and the pliers needed to add them to fabric. I've never really used snaps, so I can't help much with how to do it or how easy it is.

I've just used the short lanyard to connect two pouches together. The lanyard then becomes a handle.

The other thing I've done is remove the snap completely, and attach instead a retractable passholder (this sort of thing: http://www.wristbands.com.au/accesso...tractables.htm ) and then clip to my waist band with the pouch in my pocket. You could easily attach 2 to one holder.

I would love to see Tom Bihn's O rings to be sold for that purpose.

I the meantime I use key rings and the lanyards of passport pouches.
