    Aeronaut to carry ski boots?

Decided to make this a real question out of the TB Anticipation thread... In all seriousness, has anybody used their Aeronaut to carry ski boots on a flight? Does anyone know if they would fit? Size 28.5 or so....

If you were to post pictures of your ski boots next to your Western Flyer and
Empire Builder people who own either of those and the Aeronaut would be able to give you a ballpark idea of the difference in dimension.

Well, I've never flow with ski boots, but I put them in my Aeronaut to see if they fit.

I've got a pair of men's size 9 1/2 Technica Diablo's, which I think is about a size 43 European. They fit easily, with plenty of room to spare. I attached a couple pics.

mruseless-- you are awesome. thank you. i am newly obsessed with skiing after a long hiatus and to pass the time while it snows in Utah and I am not there (haven't ever been, yet, or Colorado) I have been eyeing a pair of dalbello kryptons for my ridiculously narrow feet. everyone seems to say first buy a good pair of boots, carry them on, then rent/demo skis for the conditions where you are. Great pics-- I am very psyched to have a justification for an aeronaut next fall!

Definitely true about carrying your boots with you and renting or demo'ing skis. Pay the extra money to get a thermal-fit liner and custom insoles. Your feet will thank you.

I'm betting I could get all my casual clothes for a ski trip into the Aeronaut with the boots -- but it would be tight. But I doubt I could get all my ski gear and clothes in a carryon (helmet, layers, gloves, etc)

They say to wear your bulkiest clothes on the plane, but I would look pretty funny wearing a ski helmet

i figure anything else is replaceable/rentable if necessary, but not boots, especially once you've dropped the $ i will have to in order to fit my feet. ski helmets are the greatest thing ever if you look as bad in ski hats as i do! i would wear it on the plane just to freak out my teenage daughter!

Well, happy to report that after much delay I purchased a pair of Dalbello Krypton Cross ski boots, size 28.5. Just brought them home and the first thing I did was pull out the Aeronaut. Unsnapped the sidewalls and popped them right in. Stay nice and vertically supported for carrying. Very psyched.
