Asymmetric and longer
Having used my Imago with absolute strap for a few weeks now I'm definitely of the opinion it is just a bit too short when worn across the body which is an annoyance in an otherwise superb messenger bag.
I also increasingly think that if the strap were slightly longer on one side of the shoulder pad than the other it would be ideal for cross body wearing without having a significant impact for one shoulder wear.

Absolute strap too short for particularly tall people?

Hello,
Each to their own; I am 6'6" and use my Absolute Shoulder with my Western Flyer and convertible packing cube.
So far it has coped admirably with a fully packed Western Flyer weighing over 10kg. It sits perfectly on my hip or back. I have no complaints at all.
Regards,
Scott

We plan to introduce a version of the Absolute Strap for taller people near the end of this year.

Absolute strap too short for particularly tall people?
I have an absolute strap on my Imago and although very comfortable I've noticed that when I have a few heavier items in it that it doesn't sit as comfortably when I have the bag resting against my spine with the strap across my chest.
The reason is twofold, I am 6' 5" (195cm) and in the arrangement described above there is slightly more length required on the side of the strap going around the front of my body than behind (I hope that makes sense).
The result is that the edge, which is not as well padded, rather than the centre of the absolute strap is sitting on my shoulder. I have adjusted the length of one side of the strap to make it asymmetric but I have very little to play with given my height as doing so makes the bag sit higher.
A potential caveat for taller people but certainly not a showstopper.Last edited by garglebutt; 04-23-2009, 05:10 PM.Tags: absolute, absolute strap, bag, imago, messenger, messenger bag, short, strap, tall, western flyer
