    Super Ego shoulder strap slides

I have an older Super Ego with the 2" toothed shoulder strap slides. This unfortunately does not allow me to use the Q-AM strap that I absolutely love using with my Ego and ID bags. It's the most comfortable strap in my opinion and the quick adjust feature is very handy.

I've tried using the Q-AM in the larger strap slides of the Super Ego, but during the course of my walk to work (1mi) the strap progressively slips in the toothed slides. The nice comfortable fit of the bag on my back that I started my journey with is lost half way to work.

Is there any way I can get the strap slides changed on my Super Ego from 2" to 1.5"?

Because of the way the buckle is sewn in there is no way to replace it, short of taking the bag 3/4 the way apart and then putting it back together, which would be more expensive than buying a new bag.
    Sorry.

        Sorry.
This is less than ideal, but could he use the Q-AM with the Adapter that works for the Absolute strap with snap hooks at the end? I wouldn't do this myself for the Q-AM strap, but this topic of switching either of these straps between bags has seen a lot of recent discussion. (Read down the thread to Maverick's response about the reason for the different styles and designs.) Here's a recent similar thread requesting the capability to switch Absolute straps between the Ego and the Empire Builder.

The issue I see is that the Q-AM strap bags work better if they have a continuous width strap connection to the bag (i.e. not via a snaphook which can pivot, as on the end of the regular Absolute strap that is sold separately.) This also means that the strap width should also optimally be sized for the size (and in particular for the side-view width) and load of the bag. I prefer to shift to the Absolute strap for bags with larger loads. For me, that means I'll use a Q-AM strap on my Imago, but an Absolute strap on my (earlier model) ID bag -- which needed the adapters.
