i would pack the brain cell at the top of the main compartment so that you can easily pull it out and send your macbook pro through security, which makes it easy to remove when you go through security. you can either tilt out or remove the brain cell in order to remove your macbook pro. or you can send the brain cell with macbook pro inside through airport security.

note that the horizontal brain cell has metal snaps for the front pocket, you technically should not send your laptop through airport security inside the horizontal brain cell. but many have reported doing this without issue. the vertical brain cell is tsa compliant, so you can send your macbook pro through security inside of the vertical brain cell.

note, also, that in order to maximize the safety to your macbook pro afforded by the brain cell, your brain cell's orientation should be the same as the orientation in which you carry the aeronaut the most.

if you carry your aeronaut mostly with the backpack straps, use a vertical brain cell.

if you carry your aeronaut mostly with a shoulder strap, use a horizontal brain cell.

    hi,

you can indeed carry a 15" macbook pro inside a brain cell, inside an aeronaut.

whether you can put more than a large packing cube in the aeronaut's main compartment along with the brain cell depends on how fully you pack that packing cube. you can stuff a lot into a packing cube.

    Aeronaut with Brain Cell?

    Hi All,

I'm thinking about getting the Aeronaut and using it in conjunction with the Brain Cell which will hold my 15" Macbook Pro. Has anyone tried this setup, how much space does the Brain Cell take up? Would I pretty much be able to only fit a large packing cube and the Brain Cell? Thanks for any feedback!
