All,
This topic is a bit off the beaten path, but I realized yesterday that the answer to a long search for the perfect o-ring was literally staring me right in the face.
I need an O-Ring to reinforce a hole through a canvas bag which I am hand making (reproduction sailor's tool bag) and the traditional method is to make a grommet out of small diameter 3 strand cord. These little devils are very challenging to make and have end up consistently sized so I have been searching for o-rings in metal to no avail. One friend suggested using a split ring (like for a key chain) and while those might work...
Yesterday, I was reading the launch announcement for the Synapse and saw mention of the "endless" supply of O-rings and thought ~ "Those not only are the right size, but they would work just fine....."
Does anyone know what the O-Rings are made from and where they could be sourced? I only need 6 - 8 per bag depending on the design. Here is a picture of what I'm trying to emulate...
The O-ring reinforces the hole through the bag hem where the Star Knots hold the lanyard to the bag.
Any/all help is appreciated.
Cheers ~
