The Blues, The Reds and the Pinks

Since I won't be able to make it to the showroom anytime soon, I'd love a little help with color choices. The color reproduction on my monitor is not a very good guide (for example the 'swatch' of indigo in the color sample looks VERY different from Maverick's video's of the indigo Synapse). I've been VERY impressed with the look of the two Tom Bihn bags that have found a way into my household (a Coco/Olive Medium Cafe Bag for me, and an Olive/Plum Imago for my partner). There is this wonderful sheen to them that is really striking. I'm very interested in getting a synapse, the indigo looks a little bright for me, and so I'm torn between the Navy and the Steel. I love the way the steel looks on other bags (like the Tri-Star or Western Flier) but somehow it looks drab in the picture of the Synapse. I'm a big fan of blues in general, but I'm wondering what Navy looks like in person... it looks kind of 'flat' on the pictures on the website (and I'm hoping for a deep, saturated color). Anyone have any experience that can be of assistance? I know this is really subjective, but I'd some eyewitness accounts if possible.

    hi chris!

the difference in appear between the steel tri-star and western flyer, and the steel synapse is that the tri-star and western flyer use 1050d ballistic nylon fabric while the synapse uses 1000d cordura fabric.

they are both just wonderful, but different.

i have a navy/cayenne medium cafe bag, and it is just gorgeous! here's a picture of it (from the product page) -

i think the navy 1000d cordura and solar dyneema will make a very striking color combination. let me take a picture of the navy with the solar.

Maverick you are amazing... I can't tell you how much time I spend checking out your videos pictures and posts. All of them incredibly helpful (your videos are what sold me on the idea of the synapse. Without them I would have thought is was a nice backpack, but not have 'gotten' it).

      Many thanks!

        hi chris,

please see the attached picture which shows the navy 1000d cordura from the medium cafe bag, and the solar dyneema and indogo 1000d cordura from the synapse.

let me know if you have any questions.

I love my navy/storm/sapphire Imago! Just the other day, I saw it sitting in a chair and I thought to myself what a lovely sheen the navy has! Not dull at all.

Because I love Blue, I almost included an the Navy/Storm/Sapphire Imago in my
Blue order (Saphire Brain Bag, Sapphire/Steel Large Cafe Bag, cutest ever Storm/Sapphire Small Cafe Bag and assortment Sapphire Dyneema Pouches and Stuff Sacks)

I had to remind myself that my body doesn't like to carry weight in landscape style. So I had to forgo ordering it.
