I have an Ego that is maybe 3 yrs old. It has an Absolute Strap, but not the clip-on style that can be removed and used on other bags. Is there any way to adapt this strap with some sort of clips so that it can be used in this way?

Yes, there is an adapter you can get to use your Absolute Strap with your older Ego. Read this forum thread through to the end.

P.S. Oops, I forgot to add that you probably also want to ask that they send you the regular snaphooks for the Absolute Strap, but that may be part of the package here. The adapter is basically a D-ring that attaches to the bag, and then you can use the regular Absolute Strap (with snaphooks at the end) with your Ego. It's the same sort of solution that they devised for the older ID bags, so if you look at the pictures in the linked posts you'll see how this works.Last edited by moriond; 01-28-2010, 12:15 PM. Reason: Added Post Script with information about snaphooks.

I got a set of the fixings for one of my straps on my last order. I was able to take the strap from my Imago and use that (after adding the findings) on another bag, and use my new(er) absolute strap on my Imago. Because I adapted the Imago as well to use the strap in a removable configuration, it added some to the overall length and I really like the way the bag hangs now on me. Didn't know how good that was till I had it.
I received Bihn level service from the Guru of All Things Shipping, Casey. When I asked for them in an email as an addition to my order (which included the new Absolute Strap), he got that sorted out for me. Yay Casey! Tom Bihn customer service is the best!Bags: Latest: Pop Tote and Shop Bag (large) ; also have a Co-Pilot, Super Ego (w/cork seatbelt); Aeronaut; Medium Cafe Bag; Large Cafe Bag; Brain Cell; Shop Bag small, (Steel); Packing Cube Shoulder Bag. Accessories: Oh yeah, bunches.
Sadly Lost to Hazmat: An Imago in Steel/Cork & MCB in Linen/Olive.
