The Inevitable FJN Questions

Regarding the new Field Journal Notebook ("FJN") and accessories announced on the Tom Bihn Blog today, I have some basic questions...

1. Do the zippers on the new FJN come with Cord Zipper Pulls already attached, or would a customer have to buy a pack of them?
   
2. Am I correct that the zippered front pocket of the FJN has an "o" ring inside to help keep keys and small pouches organized? If so, where is this ring located in the pocket?
   
3. It seems that the main zippered compartment also contains another "o" ring. Can this compartment hold a Tom Bihn Clear Organizer Pouch, Pen & Pencil size, in case I want to use the little pockets for items other than pens/pencils?
   
4. On the FJN main product web-page, photograph "E" shows the FJN being balanced in front of its owner while being suspended by a shoulder strap. I'm wondering if it's possible to zip the FJN shut in this configuration while it is not being used. (One opens the FJN, makes an entry, closes it to move to the next location, and opens it again...) Can this work? The reason I ask is that I know of a volunteer for a local winter festival that would have use for something like the FJN, but it would have to be easy to keep opening and shutting it while suspending it on one's waist as illustrated.

FJN Archive Question

'Coming soon: Tom is designing a simple system so that you can archive the notes or sketches taken in the Field Journal.......... We plan to make this available in a few colors - please stand by.'

Any idea how long it will be til this is available - weeks/months? - I want to order the FJN and this, but don't want to pay twice for postage (I am in UK so it costs a bit).

Any info would be much appreciated.

1) The Field Journal Notebook doesn't come with Cord Zipper Pulls. You can buy them separately here.

2) The "o-ring" in the front zippered pocket is located more or less in the top right hand corner.

3) APen/Pencil Organizer Pouch can squeeze in the front zippered pocket, but it won't clip to the o-ring.

4) No, it can't work that way. It has to be unzipped and folded flat to work that way, and it's not ever suspended on one's waist.

It depends on the weight of the paper. The Field Journal Notebook will comfortably hold about 150 sheets of our Harbor 100 paper.

I think this question may have been misunderstood. I was wondering if a Pen & Pencil Pouch would fit in the FJN's main compartment.

If it's a tight fit in the zippered front compartment, then I assume it would fit okay in the main compartment.

Has anyone tallied which Tom Bihn Bags this new FJN would fit into yet?

I'm wondering if the FJN would fit into the Cafe Bags, and would it fit into any of the front pockets of the TB briefcases...

Also, would the FJN into the end compartments of the Aeronaut? What about the outer pockets of the Tri-Star or the Western Flyer?
