    Synapse 19 vs 25?

    Hello there,

I’m trying to decide between these two sizes and am not sure which to pick. Given the list below, what size do you think will work best? I’m 5’3”, for reference.
    • 24/32 oz hydro flask
    • 2 cans spray sunscreen
    • medium umbrella
    • 2 small handheld electric fans
    • straw fan (for when the electric ones fail)
    • folded shopping bag
    • folded dry bag
    • large power bank
    • 2 power cords
    • 3-1-1 bag with masks inside
    • 5x7 medical case
    • 4x6 medical case
    • 2 medium bottles of medication
    • hair ties
    • Hair brush
    • flip flops
    • hand brace
    • hand lotion
    • reusable straws
    • mints
    • large wallet
    • large wipes
    • ziplocs
    • Nail file
    • Pens
    • tissues
    • eyeglass wipes
    • eyeglass case
    • headphones
I’m thinking the 19 is big enough but I’m not sure. Thank you!

Welcome to the Forums maebee !

Without knowing exactly how big some of the items are, overall I'd agree that it would probably all fit into the S19.

If you're in the US, it's not too expensive to order both, test pack, and return one... see this FAQ for how to test pack without making it 'used'
    https://www.tombihn.com/pages/faq

You could also sort of pile everything up, measure, and calculate the liters to get an idea of volume.

Another thing to consider is the overall vertical dimension of the bags (I say this all the time here because it's so important to my personal perception of bag fit/comfort though for some folks it's not important at all). The S25/SN30 are taller than fit comfortably on my torso (I'm 5'4"), so I stick with bags that are less than 20" vertical (from straps to base of pack - not including pockets above the straps, like the Shadow Guides). You can check out the REI guide for how to measure your torso if interested
    https://www.rei.com/learn/expert-adv...sting-fit.html

I'll throw out there that the Paragon might be a really useful option at 19.8L since the volume is mostly a big open space, to hold the fans & medical cases...the smaller items could go into the two pockets or into smaller cubes/stuff sacks or loose in the bag - depending on how you like to organize.
Same idea with the Shadow Guide 23L.

Let us know which way you go!
I like all the blues and greys...and all the happy citrus colours too! My search unicorn is the Sapphire Dyneema original Small Shop Bag...

If you plan to keep the water bottle in the main compartment, you would be ok with the S19. I have a 20oz narrow mouth RTIC bottle (narrow mouth) and it is as tall as the bottle pocket itself.
