You are right, I am inside out! Thank you eris !

    DWR outside and urethane inside

The coatings section within the materials glossary has a much better write up then my fumbling attempt

TOM BIHN has been using the highest quality materials for our packs and bags for over three decades.

It's widely available in Germany, don't worry 😉

Gibt es eigentlich in jedem Outdoorladen!

    Thank you very much!
I'll have a look at Nikwax. It's not that well known in Germany, but I keep hearing good things about it.

Hey wolpertinger that's the DWR "durable water repellent'" coating slowly breaking down over time (not the actual halcyon fabric itself) which is just part of how it wears.

We were just talking about it on another thread.

You can ignore it if you're not in the rain a lot or look into different methods for reapplying some repellency via Nik Wax or similar. If you google around you can see that it's just part of DWR treated fabrics.

ETA: here's the link to the NikWax or you can pick it at a outdoor gear shop or whatever https://www.tombihn.com/products/nik...nt=16645280455

ETA: - see below, I'm wrong & inside out - that's the interior urethane

    Repairing my Synapse 19

    Hey everyone,

I have my Synapse 19 for quite some years and recently seen that it wears out a little. It's nothing bad, but I'd like to know is there anything I can do to repair the it? I'd like to use this wonderful backpack as long as possible.

I think the pic explais it better, than I could.
