    Tri star questions

    Hi,
New to this, as just discovered Tom Bihn bags and this site.
After thinking about it for a few days, Ive nearly convinced myself that the Tristar is the way forward. It was a close run thing between a Western Flyer,
but now I have a problem - which colour, as my fav 1st colour isnt made in this bag - PURPLE.
So either blue or steel, but not keen on the solar interior, and when I look at different photos of the colours they look different colours/shades again.
Has anyone else had this problem?, also a bigger problem I live in the UK, so am taking a chance of just ordering unseen.
Did anyone meet up before ordering to look at their different bags/colours etc?
I realise living in the UK makes it difficult, but if theres anyone out there in
the UK and want to get in touch, that would be great?
    Thanks
    Jaffa

      Jaffa,

      Cree!

There are a couple of things I would say, hopefully of some help, to your questions.

I seem to remember a British blogger who is fond of the Tom Bihn Synapse backpack, operating her blog under the title "But She's a Girl". Maybe you could contact her for pointers.

As you can see from my signature, I own a few Bihn bags and accessories. Hopefully in the future I will acquire more. My experience with the blue-ish Sapphire/Indigo exterior color on my Super Ego briefcase has been very positive. I would heartily recommend it. See this thread from the Fall of 2009 to see my then-brand-new Super Ego. While I do not own any Bihn bags with a Solar dyneema interior, I would like to order one in the future. Why? The bright interior makes it easier to find things inside luggage, such as a Tri-Star or Aeronaut. It's your call of course, but FWIW, I like what I see in larryb's photo thread on the Aeronaut with Solar interior.

I hope you get the most out of your purchases, and please feel welcome to post photos of your new luggage in action one you acquire it.

      Good luck!

The Indigo, in person, has more than a hint of purple to it. In a lot of the photos, at least on my computer, the color looks blue, but in person it definitely looks deeper and more purple-ish than on line.

I was skeptical of the solar lining originally but it is really beatiful against the darker indigo. And, as has been said, it is practical in the sense that you can more easily find items silhouetted against the bright, light color.
Western Flyer (crimsom) with Absolute strap, Zephyr (black), Medium Cafe Bag (steel/olive), Shop Bags (solar, steel), Large Cafe bag (navy/cayenne), Small café bag (forest), Tristars (steel/solar and indigo/solar),Aeronaut (steel), Side Effects (old skool black cordura, olive parapack), Imagos (steel, cork, wasabi, and aubergine, hemp, steel), Dyneema Western Flyer (Nordic/Steel) and miscellaneous packing cubes, pouches, etc.
