Using iPad in Macbook Air 11" Ristretto padded compartment?

Hi,

I am excited about ordering a Ristretto for my new iPad 2. I would like to put the iPad 2 with smart cover in the padded compartment. I also have the requirement to fit 8-1/2" x 11" papers + folder inside the bag and in the sleeve in the back of the bag.

I was looking at the bag dimensions between the Ristretto for iPad verse Macbook Air 11". The 11" version is 1.25" wider and taller. The extra space would be nice if the iPad does not bang around in the padded compartment.

Has anyone used the iPad in the 11" Ristretto padded compartment? How is the fit?

Can someone confirm if either Ristretto size fits 8-1/2" x 11" papers + folder?


Side note... does anyone know if the small pouch will fit the Panasonic Lumix LX3 camera in it?

I've used both the 13" and iPad Ristrettos for both iPad and iPad 2. The pouches are slim in all cases so there is no problem of banging around. I've not tried the 11", but I can't see any problem. The biggest decider is always what else am I going to take. If its A4 papers, I take the 13" as it holds a fair quantity even in folders. If not, then I take the iPad size as its smaller and neater.

The LX3 should fit in a small pouch, but it might be a tight fit. My Canon G10 is a very, very tight squeeze in a small, a medium is too big, but the padded one designed for the MacBook Air Superdrive is just perfect.
