Ever used Clear Quarter Packing Cube as a First Aid Kit?

Have any owners of Bihn's Clear Quarter Packing Cube luggage accessory pouch ever tried using this particular accessory as a container for a field first aid kit? If so, what did you think?

Sometimes, I use half of the Quarter Cube as a minimal emergency kit, I use Small and Mini Organizer Pouches as dividers and containers.

One half can hold two emergency blankets, the folding kind that look like foil paper.
An emergency Poncho.
A Small and/or Mini Organizer Pouch for bandages (the mini and regular size fit in the Mini but you might want to add a Small if you need the wider longer ones incluing the knee/elbow bandage
A Mini or Small Pouch for medications.

On the other side a 3D Organizer Cube holds tubes of disinfecting gel, antihistamine cream, mosquito repellent.
Depending on how many products in tubes are needed gauze and compressing bandage can be held next to the tubes.

For hiking more foot care products can be added.


The Clear Quarter Cube makes an excellent First Aid Kit holder which has the advantage of being customizable.

I can use generic products instead of brand name and refill them as needed.


I sometimes bundle First Aid, Beauty Aid and Plastic silverware/extra large napkins in the Clear Quarter Cube so I know that it can hold a lot.


I also have 2 standard First Aid Kits. A long time ago, I bought a hard plastic shell brand name First Aid Kit and a few month ago, we got a free plastic one as a promotional item.
One is in the house, the other in the car, I use their content list to set up my portable Clear Quarter Cube First Aid Kit.

The Clear Quarter Packing Cube can hold so much, it can get bulky, it fit best in the Synapse, Brain Bag or other bigger bags.

It does fit in the main compartment of the Large Cafe Bag but takes up much of the space if fully packed.


The lightness of the Clear Quarter Cube is really a blessing as are the always reliable zippers.


This is the perfect time to do this with the appearance of the Iberian Dyneema Clear Quarter Packing Cube!

Does anyone in these forums ever use other Tom Bihn cubes or pouches for first aid kits?

Of course. I pack a "jungle" first aid kit for our travels, with spray neosporin, disinfectant wipes, liquid bandaid, blister treatment, bug bite relief, assorted water proof bandaids, malaria meds, anti-diarrhea, antibiotic, pain relievers. These fit nicely in the clear packing cube people often use for liquids.

I use the above 3D Clear Cube as a first aid kit and love it. Plus, it's red (Iberian) like a first aid kit should be!

Which Tom Bihn container do you use for this? How well does it work for you?

The 3D clear cube. I like to see what's in my pouches/bags. It may be my imagination but contents seem less vulnerable to wilting humidity.

Forgot to say that the liquid bandaid gets huddled with in the liquids bag and then repacked at arrival in first aid cube. Likewise the malaria meds get shifted to travel tray (I supposed they could start there, hmmm) where I keep headlight, flashlight, charger cables for Ipad mini and Iphone, earplugs (when I've had enough of listening to howler monkeys), regular meds...
