    Describe Linen

I'm in the process of writing a review of the Large Cafe Bag for One Bag, One World. I have the bag in Linen. It's a great color but for the life of me, I'm having trouble deciding how to describe it. Every time I look at the bag, it seems to take on a different hue: sometimes light green, sometimes tan, sometimes gray.

So, to anyone that has a linen bag, the challenge is this: help me describe the color.

I am not familiar with "linen", but perhaps you could describe it as you just have - that it changes colour according to the light it is seen in, and the context of the colours around it.

Take it outdoors and look at it in sunlight.

Have a question? @Darcy (to make sure I see it)

Thanks Darcy....it's also going to be different on everyone's screens because of individual resolution. As an example, when I hold my actual bag next to the computer screen, my bag is much darker.

Very true. I posted the photo for those who don't have a Linen bag and haven't before seen a photo of Linen.

It's really a color that one has to see in person to appreciate it. I had seen the photos on the website, but it wasn't until I saw one in the store that I really became taken with it. Linen/steel is really striking. I wish that more bags came in this color.

Not sure if this his helpful.. but I call mine "the anything bag" as in, it goes with anything. I don't know if it reflects some of what color you're wearing which makes it match so well, or if it just has undertones of the blues/greens/blacks that I wear so often.

How well does the color hold up with everyday use? I love the color I would just be afraid of it getting dirty easily.

I haven't had to wash or spot treat mine since I got it. I try to avoid obvious sources of dirt, but I carry it all the time, let it sit on the floor and have argued with my cats over who it really belongs to; so I would say it has had plenty of opportunity to get dirty.

If you have a half dozen taupe eyeshadows of varying degrees of saturation, you need a bag in Linen.

oh, don't say that. I don't wear any eye shadow. . ., though when I tried it, Tuape, Mushroom, Latte, Cocoa and Smoke were the types of colors I was drawn to. . . TB needs a Smoke colored ballistic.

It was the photo Darcy shows above that got me to pull out my credit card and place an order for the Linen/Olive LCB 10 days ago. Like you, Frank, I struggle to describe the colour. To my eyes it's darker than the photo suggests, and one's perception of it shifts depending on the ambient lighting, the viewing angle, and whether there are contrasting colours that offset it. The weave seems to alternate lighter and darker shades. Unlike the indigo and cocoa MCBs my wife and I own, linen glistens. That's not to say it's shiny, but I won't say it has a matte finish either. It's not beige, it's not brown, it's not gold, it's not sand, it's not green - but it has elements of each depending on how you view it. Me likey.
