What can you fit into a Medium Tri Star Packing cube?

I have no Tristar, but it looks like that size would work well inside both my Imago and my Synapse for those times I want an overnight bag. Anybody tried these combinations?
What kinds of practical things can you pack into a medium cube? How many days worth of clothes could you fit into it?

Good question! I know there are various sized cubes made for particular bags. Yet sometimes one may not want that large a cube, or has the need for two cubes in the space taken by a "specific" sized larger cube.

So - how many WF sized cubes fit into the equivalent an Aeronaut large cube….and so forth. Yes, yes I know I can compare measurements. But I also like pictures! (Less math required and hence fewer possible mistakes on my part!)

Good questions. Right now in the TriStar medium cube I have 2 pair knit pants, 1 pair shorts and 2 tee shirts. These fill the cube comfortably, not overstuffed. The cube does fit into the Imago but leaves little room for much else. Not a combo I particularly like.

If the purpose is just to carry clothes, the medium TriStar cube would be better off in one of the lightweight shopping bags or my preference I think would be the Swift. Both of those leave you enough room to pack other items and still stay organized. The Imago just isn't big enough for the job.

To maximize the Swift, you could use the medium TriStar cube in conjunction with the small TriStar cube and still have room for the 3D clear cube on top. This combo would easily get you 3-4 day's worth of summer clothes. And you'd still have the Swift's pockets for incidentals. It's a very portable combination and would leave your shoulders free for a messenger-type cross-body bag or purse.

I never realized how much you can pack into the Swift. I know I'm going to like it as an alternative to a suitcase and/or the more casual backpacks.

Ohhhh, can you just picture how good a Cardinal/Hemp Imago with a Cardinal/Hemp Swift would look travelling together for a long weekend?

Thanks jeffmac, and kinsale your post has been most helpful! I am just trying to see what options I have available, who knows when I will decide to pack light and do a getaway! When I purchased the non "travel" bags like my Swift, Synapse and Imago, I guess I wasn't being creative. I never considered them as viable options for overnight or even a few days away from home. Now though I love the thought of traveling so light that my bag isn't even considered to be luggage! I've got a weekend trip coming up in October that are for a night or two. I love having options!

Dorayme, I think that is the genius of Tom Bihn bags. We're not restricted to just one type of use. I don't knit, but the Swift is perfect as a carry-on for my short flying trips where it's basically the airport to the hotel and back. The packing cubes make it all possible by keeping everything organized and private. Here's a picture of the interior of the Swift holding the TriStar's Medium and Small Packing Cubes.
