    Tristar: bag within a bag

    Hi,

I have been using the Tristar for about 2 years now and I love it however I would like a few ideas as how I can make it more usable for certain tasks. I travel as a consultant on 2-4 day trips and can pack everything inside the Tristar.

The problem is that for 2-3 days I leave my clothes in the hotel and just need my laptop and a few accessories to take to the client site. Right now I store the laptop in the central compartment with the brain cell.

Is there a bag within a bag that I can use with the Tristar that could fit this purpose?

Second question - at airports I often need to take off the key items - cell phone, wallet, coins, watch belt. I would put it in the big or in the Tom Bihn bag but then I need to hunt down for the items. Is there a little pouch or a bag that works well with the Tristar that could help me temporarily hold these items?

    Thanks

I have been using my brain cell as a standalone briefcase/laptop bag when needed and its actually pretty great. I have a 15-inch macbook pro and I carry my power adaptor, lacie rugged time machine disk, and cables in the outer pocket. I could easily fit an organizer pouch with presentation cables and laser pointer if I needed to.

As far as the other stuff, I have a western flyer and an aeronaut. I usually clip my keys to a keystrap since I won't need them anyway, throw the cell, wallet and coins in the small outer pocket, and buckle my belt around the handles when I put the bag through. Or a medium organizer pouch would do the trick I'm sure.
Western Flyer (Crimson); 4Z Brain Cell; Swift (wife); Empire Builder (Black/Steel/Wasabi); Aeronaut (Black/Steel); Side Effect (Black), 3D Cube (Olive); lots of cubes/pouches/kit; Synapse (Navy/Solar); Smart Alec (Cardinal/Steel)

Very soon, TB will be introducing a new bag that might be exactly what you're looking for.

I put everything you mention, except the belt, into a large pouch and clip it into my bag prior to getting to security. The only thing on me, besides clothes, are my ID (not the bag) and boarding pass. Once through security, I head for the nearest loo and put everything back on me where they belong.

Keep to see if something will be coming up before Christmas as I will be in the US visiting around that time of year and would love to pick something up to supplement my Tri-Star.
